How much money has EA got back by bringing back the college footage ball franchise and still sells an insane amount. granted they had that $100 play early edition which helps in a revenue charts but still.
The PS5 and Xbox getting a huge boost is awesome too and there doesn't seem to be any consequence to dropping last gen

Interesting that they gave hard numbers for hardware this time, even if it's not per-platform.
Hopefully Mat makes that standard going forward. We'll see.
I think they still have the Madden license; you might be confusing that with FIFA.
yeah I just woke up and realized the mistake. also at first I thought this was for august which helped in the confusion.
PS5 has a nearly 7 million lead on both Xbox Consoles.
Remember in early 2022 when the ship shortage was effecting PS5 badly people thought PS5 lost a lot of market share to xbox and that the Series S was the greatest thing Microsoft ever made.
Still, July 2024 might be the closest Xbox ever comes to being #1 in sales in their home territory
Huge bump in NA from college football. Wonder how long that will last, but tho more consoles are moved, these are complete casuals like buying in and not adding to the single player spend unfortunately.

I think this July is very important to show how the generation is developing.
College football is not going to be enough to sustain Xbox sales but if it is an annual franchise, it will bounce console sales reliably and is very valuable.
Switch is in steep decline.
With PS5 pro and many strong titles in the way, I think PlayStation will continue into the remainder of the generation with a lot of momentum.
It will probably tie with PS4 in terms of sales... Especially with PC not having such strong growth.
Even if it's still a strong and good score bearing in mind that there was rebirth, helldivers 2, dragon's dogma ... but compared to 2023 it's still down.

One interesting thing I noticed so far in the Top 20 ending in July 2024 is that there are no Nintendo games in the top 20
in fact unless I'm wrong the only games in the top 20 that are also on switch are MLB the Show 24, Hogwarts Legacy, NBA 2k24, and Minecraft.
Compare this to the 7th year of PS4 where in the top 20 of you had 2 PS4 exclusives in the top 20 and one PS4 third party exclusive:
TLOU PT2, Ghost of Tsushima, and FFV 7 Remake
You also had a cross gen game like Spider-Man Miles Morales show up in the top 20 as well
Now before 2024 end something like Zelda echoes, Luigi's mansion 2 HD, Mario party, or Mario Kart 8 reappear in the top 20 by December 2024 but I think this is notable on how Nintendo didn't leave the Switch with a heavy heavy hitter in it's 7th year like Mario Wonder or Tears of the Kingdom, but who know Mario Party might do insane numbers seeing how Super Mario Party did end up doing something like 20 million

If this is the post your are referring to, They didn't say win NPD but noted that Sony need to get GTA exclusivity down because Xbox was outselling PS5 on Gamestop.com. While Xbox did have a higher boost in North America that is simply because it's numbers were so woeful before this bump.
