I do think it's kind of an interesting time for a changing of the guard.
We'll see how things shape up over the rest of the gen but it does seem like the pivot to GAAS isn't going as planned.

A) Not a pivot, it’s a secondary line of business in addition to traditional games

B) None of the games have even gone to beta yet

Posts like the one I quoted are definitely a strong case for that clown reaction!

None of the games having gone to beta yet is a sign that things aren't going to plan, and I think you in particular should be careful of throwing rocks in glass houses when it comes to clown emojis.

You're saying that despite Jimbo saying 10+ gaas by 2025 and none of them have hit beta yet is a sign of a smooth dev process? Not a single one?

Seriously?

The games aren’t finished and only a few have even had official reveals, so calling them failures makes you look pretty dumb.

I think that we all knew she was not at PlayStation, it's just that some think she was fired and others think that she left.

Those who think one thing are not always nice to those who disagree, so we would need a definite answer here!

A company making money doesn't necessarily translate into good things for the consumers. Take their GaaS focus. In rare cases a few of those games bring in a crapload of money. But those games are easily low quality, lowest common denominator shitshows.

Money should not be the only metric by which you measure success as a consumer.

Let's look at the facts. Over the last several years. Sony lost access to 2 major publishers, with over a dozen of well known IPs, including one of the biggest IPs in gaming, in terms of making money. What have they done to counter that? They bought some small, GaaS studios and Bungie another GaaS studio.

In those few years, what have they shown from those studios? CGI trailers. They had their top studio working on a GaaS, had Bungie step in and nuke it. ND went from being their top studio to struggling with GaaS instead of working on what they know best.

If you're a shareholder, Sony's doing better than ever. If you're a fan, PS has been dropping the ball more than usual.

I doubt these 2 recent departures are a coincidence. Both are tied to PS and are in charge of their games output. If Hermen leaves next, it's definitely Japan cleaning house because they're not happy with performance.
You still didn't say what crap the japanese part of the corp got tired of.
They're making more money than ever.
Your reasoning make no sense.
You were talking about the corp and now are talking about consumers. Goalpost much?

She was fired. Good to know there are consequences to incompetence. What bothers me is that Hermen is still there.

The tweet he replied to was deleted?

I'm confused? Do we have confirmation she was fired or something?

They was asked if she left/was fired. He replied yes. It's pretty much implied she was fired based on the answer, else he would have said "she wasn't fired".

The same dude who said Jim Ryan "stepped down"

You must know Jason loves adding bs to fit his agenda, he only report half of the story and then add bits of bs.

Imagine: PS fired a FEMALE veteran employee. FEMALE. Proof that PS is becoming a fratboy club or some bs.

He also said shit like employees hate Jimbo because he has no opinion on abortion, and advised employees to be neutral and accepting others opinions. Could you imagine that, being neutral?

Angie has been working thru the ranks quickly. And replacing the old guard isn’t so concerning when they’ve done a great job for 30 years apparently…. Even more so when you never knew this person existed before this report.

PlayStation is riding so high it seems more likely that it’s easier to go out on top especially after tenured careers.

The idea that PlayStation is changing its direction in any way is hopium. More than likely those who replace anyone will still share the company’s vision.

(The only commercial mistake they’ve arguably made is VR2 🤣)

That's a fair point, but you do realise that if we're to trust him on that, then we need to trust him on the "firing" comment, right? Or do you want to be selective?

And we have no evidence they're moving back to Japan, that's highly unlikely.
Still waiting for evidence.

Well, maybe they are just retiring because they are pretty old and millionaire.

MLB and and GT7 have been very successful, and Destiny 2 continues being very successful. Marathon broke the Youtube record quickly achieving 19M views, which means there's a record interest for the game.

Sony said they were happy with the PSVR1 performance, and that their target for PSVR2 was to slightly improve the PSVR1 results.

PSVR2 had better launch window sales than PSVR1, no commercial mistake here. It's performing as planned.

He's replyting to a deleted tweet.

They said until before April 2026.
-MLB (2022)
-GT7 (2022)
-Firewall Ultra (2023)
-Helldivers 2 (2024, originally planned for 2023)
-Concord (2024)
-Marathon ("at least one new IP before 2025", so probably 2024)
-Matter ("at least one new IP before 2025", so a 2024-2025 release may be realistic)
-Twisted Metal (the original rumor said it was planned to be released close to the tv show)
-Fairgame$ (Sony rarely announces games that are 2+ years away from release, so I'd bet 2025)
-TLOU Online (TLOU2 was released in 2020, it's realistic to release it before April 2026)
-London Studio new IP (their previous main game was released in 2019, so it's realistic to release their next game before April 2026)
-Horizon Online (its game director came back to Guerrilla to work on it in February 2018, to release it before April 2026 is realistic)
-Deviation's game (studio founded in nov.2019, to release before April 2026 may be realistic if not cancelled or highly rebooted)

These are 13 games. Not sure if the "10+/12 franchises releasing before April 2026" thing was firstly said before releasing / discontinuing Destruction All Stars, in that case would be 14.

When saying "more than 10" or "12" maybe they were considering that -since it's something common- a couple of them could be cancelled or delayed beyond April 2026, they'd have the 12 or "more than 10". A few games may had a delay (and Fairgame$ was progressing faster than expected), but apparently they are on track.

lol
Hell even Sony knew that pivoting to Gaas gonna slow down their sp output, that's why they finding solutions by expanding in East and South East Asia. You can spin that how you can lol

Your posts remind me of circa 1986 Capcom games' lousy English localizations, as they are similarly nonsensical.
