I predicted to my friends months ago that if Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and FF7 Rebirth were both as good as I hoped, the rest of the year would be a fight for third place.

I guess it's time for that fight to begin.

Personal taste. Far as I'm concerned, TGA doesn't have good enough taste to consider a Like a Dragon game for GOTY.

There's nothing that screams 92+ in the current landscape of announced games for the year(so far)
Hades 2 is going to be in early access this year, so it can't be nominated.
Switch 2 is rumoured to be delayed from Fall 2024 to Early 2025, so a 3D Mario game can't come in at the last second and swoop the award.

Unless some third party or 1st party gets revealed and slated to release in H2 2024 at the PlayStation Showcase, it might just be the year FF is able to snag the award.

This lead me thinking, man... 2025 might be a repeat of 2023 in terms of 95+ games duking it out for the crown.

Helldivers, Ronin, and Stellar Blade, have the PS Studios logo on the box. They’re not 1st party but they’re PS Studio games. Sony funded those games and helped developed them.

I feel like Dragon's Dogma 2 is a bit of a wildcard. It could end up "good but not amazing" like the first game, or it could indeed be incredible because Itsuno is finally working with all the resources he should've had with the first game. It could land anywhere within that range.

I considered 16 like a 6.5 at best. But this looks way better than that turd.

This will score in the high 80s low 90s.

Not buying it tho. Not full price. Ff16 was the first chance I’ve given them with the IP in ages and it sucked bad.

Will wait till it’s free with ps plus again.

Even the most hardened Xbox fans are probably going to pick up a PS5 to play this, especially considering its a GOTY contender!

Played the Demo and had a fantastic time with it!
