Look at any thread that breaks down sales by platform for a game series, when those numbers actually release.Where’s the actual data here? Lol this sounds like some zeus level ass pullin

you know, i'm looking through XGS's catalog on Steam and my jaw is on the floor. It's just been so long with nothing of note. about 5 years now since something really made a mark, and even then they were maybe a 70 or 80-range game or two.
the lows are just so low, and the highs never reach high enough.
what in the hell is even this...
How can MS stamp their name on this garbage?
Even before Microsoft started putting their first party games on Game Pass day one (Sea of Thieves was the first), their games weren't selling great outside of the big three. Then you add in the disaster of the Xbox One generation and well, in all honesty, Microsoft going in the direction that they're currently in was the smartest decision they could make. plus, it fits in with what Microsoft does as a company which is subscription based.Agreed. Even im starting to feel that way with the new PS PLUS, having so many games on the service people are gonna feel that devaluation. You cant tell new ps5 players they can have very big first party game right away (aside from horizon, gt7, rift apart, tlou2) and then tell them two months later the new one coming out is 70.
Thats pretty much what microsoft has been doing for years now. No one is gonna rush out and buy starfield day one unless there is some early access for it which is what i think will happen just like forza. They will try and recoup the gamepass cost that starfield will take.
As for it selling 10 million+ I almost bet my life it won’t. There maybe a half million sales on xbox and maybe another 5m on pc players who need to play it on steam

With PlayStation Plus though, the most recent first party game is Returnal. That's only 15 months after release but sales for it have been very low. It wasn't even at 1m in sales in it's first three months of release. Even Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart didn't sell much better even though it does line up with what the franchise's history as done in the past. I can see newcomers looking at PS+ and seeing all those exclusives to where by the time majority get through them all, the next batch would probably be on the service.
I don't see an early access for Starfield. With Forza Horizon 5 and looking at the premium edition, it makes sense because it's a sports/racing game that will get so much added content to it as well as expansions. For Starfield, I can see an expansion pass at most but even then, I think they will just sell them separately as they release. I'm expecting around 2m in sales for Xbox Series and 8m+ for PC via Steam as the PC user base prefer to own the game and more so than that, have no interest in using the Windows Store to play it via Game Pass and they also prefer to do all that modding and whatnot which Bethesda allows. The only way I see sales being less on PC via Steam is if Game Pass is on Steam by the time Starfield releases.
Tell Me Why and As Dusk Falls are basically Life Is Strange type titles and obviously, not for you (or me) but there's people that are interested in them and do play them. As for Pentiment, it's not for me either but it's from Josh Sawyer who I believe did Fallout New Vegas and I wouldn't be surprised to see it get at least an 80 on Open Critic. Tell Me Why and As Dusk Falls is an 81 and 78 respectively on Open Critic which considering what they are, I would say that's pretty damn good.i'm looking at stuff like Tell Me Why, Dusk Falls, and Pentiment... just shocking. We all hounded MS for more variety, but not like this. Hard to believe this was once the dudebro console with too many shooters. This console is a lost cause.
All true but I do think Starfield will be bigger than Fallout 4. A lot of people have been wanting BGS to do a sci-fi game for a long ass time and Starfield is a new IP as opposed to The Elder Scrolls or Fallout which have been around for about two decades each give or take.At the end of the day it doesn’t even make sense to debate cause microsoft will never release any real sales data for it anyway but i don’t feel like bethesda fans are that loyal. I don’t even think it would have sold 15m without gamepass.
Fallout 4 sold like 15 million in total and the majority of those copies were on playstation and pc before PC Gamepass was a thing
It'll likely have a higher player count, but I doubt it will sell more than 15 million copies without PlayStation. All true but I do think Starfield will be bigger than Fallout 4. Regardless of what it sells, im playing Starfield on Game Pass so yay me!!! lol

Let's see. I hope Microsoft releases sales numbers down the road.
You said that Xbox's revenue increased. I added context that the increase in revenue happened more likely because of two things:I'm not sure what point you are making lol.. the whole point is if Xbox'ers don't buy games, and nobody is really paying for Gamepass, then Xbox certainly wouldn't have seen that growth as the theory I see is people stopped spending money because of Gamepass.
XBox grew at a faster rate too.
I don't use my Xbox(s), the 1st party output has been bad.. but all the theories that it's just some huge money pit and no Xbox fans spend money are just... well bad theories.
That's absolutely not it. They also released the nail polish collection.Listen, if I was primarily an Xbox player, this would be me:
They seem to be doing everything else but releasing big AAA games (xCloud to your fridge, controller colors, etc). Nothing really launched in 20' (only like a month left in the year, but still). 21? 22?
FH5, F2P Halo Infinite and Flight Sim, is that it?
Really?
Xbox is so pathetic, honestly.
This is utterly embarrassing. And that’s the problem with Xbox, they’re not about the games, they’re about everything else. They lack vision and focus.

the little gamepass DLC card voucher in the bottom left... LMAO
this is nuts
So do you think Xbox'ers don't buy games, and are all paying $1 for Gamepass? You said that Xbox's revenue increased. I added context that the increase in revenue happened more likely because of two things:
Subscription services like Gamepass and PS Plus are supposed to (and do) affect people's spending habits. That's the whole point of these subscription services -- to add value by offering games at a cheaper-than-usual rate.
- Increase in overall gaming, MTX, and third-party sales in the last few years.
- An aggressive acquisition strategy that combined the revenue of other companies under the Xbox banner.
$1? NoSo do you think Xbox'ers don't buy games, and are all paying $1 for Gamepass?
