Looks...like a Switch!
Hope its backwards compatible with the OG Switch and can at least run Switch games at 1080p 60fps
If its not BC its not a good look. They are the only Platform doing so and it would be silly to port all there games again
Fucking buying Pikmin 3 again and more expensive then when I bought it for the Wii U

Absolutely mind blowing the base PS4 will be 12 years old by the time the Switch 2 releases and it still will beat it in specs. I think it's safe to say the Swith 2 wont be selling 20 million a year like its predecessor, not at $400 it wont.

I'm on the fence again like the first one. I like consoles not handhelds which is what is putting me off. I know it can be docked, but it will be a waste as it will always be docked.

Many factors like graphics, build quality, games etc will determine whether I jump in. I've had to scrape £800 🤢for this PS5 PRO, so definitely not any time soon.

They could call them remasters and call it a day
Thats a whole lot of remasters without giving the option of BC.

PS ported games from PS4- PS5 like Death Stranding, GOT, TLOU etc but you could still play the version you bought and sometimes with free 60fps etc.

Day 1, but I'll say this, if you believe this is the device that 3rd parties flock to, you are incorrect. It's far too weak.
3rd parties already flocked to the underpowered switch unless you mean brand new AAA titles
Like the Switch itself is not lacking 3rd party support outside of of the realm of the new AAA

Weaker? Not exactly.
GPU, CPU and amount of RAM should be way higher than PS4.

Brandwidth is more related to the resolution you want to render.
PS4 run almost all games in native 1080p and so the bandwidth is enough.
For games in lower resolution like 720p, 800p, 900p, etc you just need around half of it (Steam Deck come to mind... and that is the biggest reason Steam Deck falls below PS4 if you set it to 1080p... or Xbox One :D).

So with that memory bandwidth (120GB/s) I believe Switch Pro is not aiming to native 1080p but lower res screen like 720p... and for a portable it is really fine.
Of course it will upscale to 1080p or 4k (?) in docked mode.
Here the DLSS comes to mind too.

Base resolution at 720p or lower upscaling via DLSS to higher resolution... it doesn't need memory bandwidth for 1080p resolutions.
It is actually a killer setup for a handheld screen... and DLSS can make up the difference for a docked screen.

Switch 2 bandwidth is only 102gb
