Sony didn't need to show a thing. They are stacked with releases for the next 3 months back to back to back.I’m not saying Sony had a good showing, they didn’t but if you actually look beyond the headlines, Xbox was all style over substance.
-OD is a movie game for cell phones
-Hellblade 2 has no release date
-Blade is like 6 years away, even if it is exclusive.
So does that change any momentum for Sony going into 2024 with a 2:1 lead? Not at all.
And yet that dlc had one of the biggest pop at the show. Forbes gaming editorial doing what Forbes gaming editorial does best...whoring for clicks.Dude even tried to spin free GOW DLC as a negative. Definitely just trying to get people riled up for engagement.
Let's hope MS pays enough this clown to make worth losing all his credibility -if he ever had- with such dumb takes as this one.Xbox Quietly ‘Won’ The Game Awards With PlayStation Coming Up Short
Xbox and Sony won few awards between them, but Microsoft heavily leaned into the ad-centric nature of the show with a lot of sly inserts and big features.www.forbes.com
Yes and it always will. It just gets the green caucus even more riled up.Isn't the ps5 still outselling the xbox 20:1 despite all the media hyping xbox up?
Very true. It’s crazy how people always make this just a PlayStation vs Xbox battle, yet. Nintendo gets to sit in a corner and get free passes. Out of the big 3, Nintendo had the worst night. Not one single announcement.
Xbox, the media darlings, wins by default just by showing up.Actiually, Xbox rEalLy won the Game Awards
List of idiocies written by this Paul Tassi:
1 - "A really great look at Hellblade 2" conveniently forgetting Ninja Theory already showed the game back in December 2020, with a gameplay reveal in December 2021. It's been 3 years and they still don't even have a release date. Ninja Theory is practically becoming a meme at this point.
2 - Kojima's OD was a nothing burger. Kojima Productions is only made up of 80 people and they're still working on Death Stranding 2 which might be coming in 2024 and only then will they go full production on OD. We know nothing about the project other than it's probably not coming until 2026 or so.
3 - Marvel Blade is another nothing burger, as they didn't have anything to show meaning it's also not coming in the next 2 years. Also, the teaser didn't even mention Xbox at all which makes this "Xbox Win" argument a bit stupid.
4 - Baldur's Gate 3 launching on Xbox isn't a win. It was a massive failure on Xbox's teams that the game didn't release 3 months ago like it did on Playstation 5. And it was only possible because Xbox executives decided to give Larian an exception (full feature parity between S and X) they didn't give anyone else, which by itself opened a whole other can of worms.
Another factor that should actually count on this being a fail on Xbox is how Swen Vincke actually forgot to mention the Xbox version was made available when he got on stage.
5 - TGA had two massive winners, and they're named Larian and Remedy. None of them is called or belongs to Xbox Studios.
6 - The funniest joke on the whole show was Christopher Judge's quip on Call of Duty MW3's single player being trash, which is now a Microsoft game.
To summarize, the dude just did some mental acrobatics to paint nothing burgers and failures as wins towards Microsoft.
Hipocrisy and/or dishonesty really comes up when he mentions Blade but forgets how Final Fantasy VII Rebirth won the most anticipated game award and is coming in 3 months for PS5 only, or mentions OD but forgets how Helldivers 2 is two months away.
In the end this is all just Xbox management repeating their mistakes over and over, even when serving articles through their shills. People want to buy good games they can actually play, and cool teasers/trailers will only take them so far.
Not even thieves want an Xbox. LolXbox, the media darlings, wins by default just by showing up.
Remember the showcases last summer, everybody was shitting on Sony and praising Microsoft's big "comeback"? The Xbox consoles were down every month since then while Playstation exploded everywhere.
The media lives in their own universe where Xbox is always winning but customers are saying otherwise. They are not fooled.
