Forspoken did well in all regions apparently.

I figured it would do well just not blowing up the charts well. It'll get them their money back and some profit. Good to see. Not everthing has to be a blockbuster.

Good to see that its doing well and not at terrible as most of these media outlets trying to make it out to be. Ill get to finishing the game once I complete Hogwarts Legacy.
Bro I've been playing Hogwarts everyday for like 6 - 8 hours. It's very addicting but trying to get it out the way before psvr2 and GT7.
Critical and Commercial success are 2 different things. You can have titles that sell really well because of Marketing, and Forspoken had aggressive marketing. But that doesn't change the fact the game is doo doo.
Fallout 76 is also an example of a commercial success but critical failure.
I understand where you coming from and im not saying there is a vendetta out on the game. I'm just stating there's enough people enjoying the game despite what the media outlets trying to paint it out to be. Doo doo or not is subjective and I respect anyone opinion who think that but also the same should be given to those who enjoy it

I'll take Forspoken over Fallout 76 anyday.......Forspoken might lack the challenge of, many games of it's ilk, mainly because of the parkour system that makes fights easier to maneuver, but the combat system and upgrades are impressive, it's also a great looking game, same can't be said about Fallout 76.
I think it probably did. I don't think Square was looking at Forspoken as the next FF....I mean they probably have very high expectations for FFXVI and that will no doubt break records....I think Forspoken is doing well enough where Square has promised patches for both graphics and some gameplay elements. I think they are pleased with it enough, even if the Meta is mid 60's..Does it meet Squares hefty expectations though?
I think though, there are games which could go from lower cricitical reception to something much more in the future with a sequel. It's a shame critics can be so harsh sometimes because there is nothing broken about Forspoken.....I've seen games scoring 10/10's with horrendous cameras and terrible combat, but they were praised to high heavens. Then when I think on some games that may never get sequels and were genuinely solid games like Days Gone, DriveClub, Order 1886, even Forspoken to a leser degree from those...All these games could have improved massively with a sequel.....But the machine is too busy cancelling games for triviality......
Bethesda was never known for technical marvels or visually pleasing games. I never played Fallout 76 and will not play it because its not for me. Saying Forspoken is a beautiful game is like saying a girl who weighs 500 lbs is attractive. Have you not paid attention to the bland ugly textures or the character models? I am not sure if you are looking at the same game. Forspoken looks like title that was made for the PS3, but blame the luminous engine, its absolutely horrible and Square are absolute idiots for using it.
Look at all this blandness, emptiness and pure grayness lol.

Hey, those low rez shots can look bland.....I'm not saying that Forspoken looks better than Horizon Forbidden West, but it has some really nice locales, especially foliage expanses, detailed creatures + main characters.... and of course the effects really are next level....It's NPC's aren't on the level of Horizon, but it's cutscenes are really detailed and flamboyant and it's animation system is mighty impressive/reponsive. There’s an ign person that really loves this game. On the podcasts she goes on about it each week.
The animation in FF XV was pretty good and if I am not mistaken it's same team for Forspoken? But, to be fair I never liked how FF XV looked. It was very inconsistent ane the lighting in that game was awful, especially during nighttime. I feel that engine was a waste of resources and time. I am glad Square switched over to UE 4 for KH3 and FF7 Remake.
Looking forward too seeing FF7 Rebirth on UE5 and KH4 in UE5. I am very anal about what engines the games use and how they utilize them. Bethesda is fucking lazy and didnt even switch engine for Starfield. A brand new IP for next gen systems.... but whatever, their games are all about the engrossed world exploration and RPG elements and of course the PC mods.
I've seen a good fair share of trash UE4 titles as well. I dunno, any footage I've seen of Forspoken just screams ultra jank to me. Sure, the locations and environments might be really cool from an artistic visual standpoint but it's just sad too see talented 3d artists work go to waste because the people who made the call to use an outdated engine.
I also cannot stand fucking Unity. Worst shit ever. It's only good for mobile and 2D games. The Ori series is the only game I've seen that looks mindblowing for a sidescroller/metroidvania. Any 3D Game in Unity though makes me wants to vomit.
Hmmm I don't know many of the people there anymore. But it's good the game has an advocate on a high profile site.

- not even #1 PS5 game in Japan, where you'd 100% expect it to be.
For a very heavily budgeted and advertised AAA exclusive IP, it's pretty disappointing all things considered.
What about that other game that dropped out of the top 50 on Xbox and number 300 on the sales chart?
The game that has almost 6x active players right now, and also launched on game pass on both console and PC and was done on a shoestring budget with no marketing by comparison ?
I think it's gonna be just fine, not a huge bomba like this one.
