The conclusion is that is retarted to take any conclussion of the CCU of a full priced port released 5 HOURS AGO of a SP game originally released 4 years ago.
I concluded on the whole list of games, not just this one. TLOU and FW seems like two big disasters

It is completely dumb to take any conclussions comparing a game released 5 hors ago vs games released years ago.

You don't even have the peak of the first day or the first weekend. In fact, comparing them you can see that the GoT CCU is higher than games like Horizon that some time ago already had sold over 3M copies.

Having achieved 56.6K in only 5 hours means that in the peak of the first week, which pretty likely will be during the weekend, and will probably be the highest peak of the game, may be higher than the CCU record achieved by any SP Sony game on Steam, the 73,529 of GoW.

But again, CCU estimations are worthless for SP games to estimate sales.

CCU are important as metric for MP/GaaS titles to see how big is its active playerbase, so how healthy the game is, how its user retention is and how bright its future is.

The game was released 4 years ago and has been included in PS+ for years and discounted many times. Pretty much everyone who wanted to play it there already did it.
Bingo. Most sensible double dippers will at least wait for it to match the historical low of $30 which it most recently was at in March of this year.

i am not trying anything and few members doesn't represent IconEra.

and yes, people can speculate sales from peak numbers. but it would be more accurate on friday and saturday.
57k looks pretty good if we would take all the controversy into account.

Yeah, the comparison to other PC ports by SIE is pretty good for GoT, especially when they're not legally selling it to a bunch of countries and folks are review bombing and the sentiment on Steam about PlayStation is a bit on the low side.

People can decide on their own if those sales are acceptable or not to begin with.
I'm not tossing my hat in that arena though, feels like a waste of time.

For those who want a comparison for the last two SIE games with a higher CCU, this is how they performed over the weekend:

Spider-Man daily peaks during launch weekend:

Fri: 60,210
Sat: 64,893
Sun: 66,436

God of War
daily peaks during launch weekend:

Fri: 49,411
Sat: 65,403
Sun: 73,529

If I recall, Spider-Man 1 was a tad bit more buggy at launch than GoW.

i don't expect much better graphics, just performance.

Yeah most ports have been fairly light on visual upgrades.
I think Nixxes just has been working as fast as possible on releasing them and they don't have the time/budget allocated to it.

We know from the Insomniac leaks that the SIE ports are like 2M-2.5M in costs.
Considering Nixxes are in the Netherlands and are probably paid quite a bit much more than normal port houses in places from Asia and other regions, the most they probably work on any of their ports is probably like 12-14 months and possibly rushed one or two of them in under a year.
In one of the documents the Ratchet and Clank port was estimated to take 9~ months(no idea if it took that long or not).

That kind of timeline(while working on multiple ports at the same time) really doesn't leave them with enough manpower to do art touchups or introduce higher fidelity options.

Slap DLSS/FoV/Ultrawide and other PC features and ship it.

I concluded on the whole list of games, not just this one. TLOU and FW seems like two big disasters

Ghost of Tsushima has more in common with other open world games with swords than FW and especially TLoU.

Yes, only a supper tiny portion of the players play a game on its first 5 hours.

The majority of people wait until games are discounted, specially in PC.

These countries where the game isn't listed pretty likely aren't even 1% of the Steam sales, so very likely there won't be any negative on the sales.

Regarding the supposed review bombing, so far the game has so far 75% of positive reviews, so isn't very effective.

Icon-Era: "Wow 57k peak on a Thursday, horrible launch"
Also Icon-Era: Wow incredible launch at 67k in over 2 weeks in Japan!

HFW also didn't peak until the weekend, it was also a Thursday Launch. On Friday/Saturday we'll probably see GoT peak at something like 70k which would put it solidly right behind GoW. Doesn't Help Digital Foundry wasn't given a Key for w/e reason so people are going based purely on WoM on the quality of the port
these 67k for Stellar Blade is PHYSICAL only and only in one country, you really want to compare it to GOT worldwide at 57k?

There's a narrative? This is twitter folks again, right? They be tweaking with the hottest takes as usual.
Yes, the narrative from Final Fantasy 16 and FF7R that you see on every thread. Square needs to be on more platforms like Persona and Yakuza to grow the franchise (even if most FF games are already on Switch, Xbox, mobile and PC 🤡)

The game was released 4 years ago and has been included in PS+ for years and discounted many times. Pretty much everyone who wanted to play it there already did it.
The game is still for sale on PS5 and they sold 60 millions, they are halfway. They are giving less reasons to buy one and subscribe to PS+. These few PC millions won't cover that, not even the PS5 marketing for 1 month.

Their console active userbase is at record levels and their PS Plus revenue is at record levels.

Their PS5 console sales are almost at PS4 levels even with the shortages and the price increase instead of price drop that the PS4 and other consoles already had at this time.

Their first party games sell more than ever, both in console and in PC. All their PC ports are profitable with a huge ROI.

Their PC revenue has an insane CGAR growth and zero negative effect on their console business, where basically all KPIs are at record levels and growing (with some small logical exception, like having less sales when there are less huge release).

Their 1st party games made around $700M outside PS this FY23, they can fund two new big ass AAA games with that. Or over 300 PC ports rnore.

No, in PS4 it didn't sell 2M+ in 5 hours.

If something, the GoT Steam CCU indicates it's going to pretty likely outsell all previous Sony SP games available on Steam, meaning it's going to sell several millions of copies and generate over $100M in profits.

But obviously after its lifetime, not in 5 hours. Only a dumbass would think all the game does is on its first 5 hours, or that what it does in 5 hours is conclusive of anything.

Delayed ports always do much less than the first launch time, even when it's games coming out on other platforms like 3/6/9 months later. Imagine a game coming out 4 years later?

I think people really have a warped idea of how much initial sales can be sold for most games once the FOMO has been gone for subsequent SKU releases.

It's FF discourse again... I tire of it in general.
Being multiplat is a relevant part of the equation in terms of Square gaining potential sales but it's not really the supreme magic bullet for them. There's plenty of things they can do better in terms of release schedule/marketing(they're complete dogshit at it) and a bunch of other things related to project choice(s) and management.

Hopefully they can figure it out, as a fan of FF/DQ since the 90s and it kinda sucks to see well reviewed games not do the numbers and profits SE would like.
