Game peaked a little bit earlier than usual, so final CCU for today is 196,089.
Really big growth compared to Saturday's 155k.
Clearly people bought the game on Sunday but skipped playing in favour of the Superbowl and then WoM on Monday was significantly positive.

Tuesday and Wednesday are going to be very pivotal days for the game, really need to address the server/matchmaking issues.

BETTER THAN HALO!

Helldivers 2 Steam CCU peak just outperformed Halo MCC, Left 4 Dead 2 and Warframe! Next one to beat: Rainbow Six Siege!

I can't edit anymore the OT of the thread I created with the long comparision list because someone merged threads, so I'll keep spamming the list here from time to time to update the numbers.

These are the all time Steam CCU peak for the Sony PS Studios games released on PC:
  1. Helldivers II 196,089
  2. God of War: 73,529
  3. Spider-Man Remastered: 66,436
  4. Horizon Zero Dawn: 56,557
  5. TLOU Part I: 36,496
  6. Days Gone: 27,450
  7. Spider-Man Miles Morales: 13,539
  8. Uncharted collection: 10,851
  9. Ratchet Rift Apart: 8,757
  10. Detroit: 8,222
  11. Helldivers 1: 6,744
  12. Death Stranding: 6,093
  13. Guns Up!: 2,277
  14. Journey: 1,757
  15. Predator Hunting Grounds: 1,504
  16. Beyond Two Souls: 1,346
  17. Heavy Rain: 747
  18. Sackboy: 610
  19. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture: 191
Regarrding Sony's Bungie games, Destiny 2 reached last year its record with 316,750 Steam CCU. Helldivers II also achieved a higher all time Steam CCU peak than all Microsoft games studios with the exception of the F2P MP SKU of Halo Infinite. Some extra coop-ish shooters as reference:
  • Destiny 2 316,750 (F2P)
  • Halo Infinite 272,586 (F2P)
  • Payday 2 247,709
  • Rainbow Six Siege 201,053
  • Helldivers II 196,089
  • Warframe 189,837 (F2P)
  • Left 4 Dead 2 162,399
  • Halo MCC 161,024
  • Outriders 125,143
  • Borderlands 2 124,678
  • Remnant II 110,856
  • Warhammer 40,000 Darktide 108,395

  • Left 4 Dead 30,616
  • Vermintide 24,700
  • Killing Floor 24,107
  • Borderlands 23,655

It's also right now top 1 in Steam top sellers or trending.

Regarding user reviews, Helldivers 2 started with a low score due to bug and complains about DRM (people seem to prefer pirated game and MP broken due to cheaters), but kept improving. As of now, Steam db numbers:

  1. Left 4 Dead 96.78%
  2. Deep Rock Galactic 96.02%
  3. Left 4 Dead 94.55%
  4. Killing Floor 93.37%
  5. Borderlands 2 92.85%
  6. Payday 91.58%
  7. Halo MCC 91.51%
  8. Helldivers 1 89.59%

  23. Guns up! 72.50&
  24. Halo Infinite (F2P MP) 69.99%
  25. Gears 5 68.73%
  26. Halo Infinite (paid SP) 66.86%
  27. Warhammer 40000 Darktide 66.43%
  28. Outriders 65.51%
Got close! I still think it’ll get passed the 200K mark.
Sure, but not today since it peaked at 196K a couple hours ago.

Once they fix all the matchmaking, logins and rewards will go beyond that. Some hours ago I experienced the login issue, meaning the servers were saturated again even if they increased again the capacity, I assume this time to allow 500K CCU.

In PS5 I think login now only fails in peak hours, and I'd say rewards are fixed at least for the recent matches I played. The main issue as of now in PS5 is the matchmaking, since they still didn't release the first update due to the certification process needed.

That and there's a drought on Playstation. Helldivers doesn't count because Arrowhead is not first-party 🤡
Arrowhead still isn't 1st party, but the game and IP are first party.

I’d say 200k paid is more impressive than Halo Infinites launch
Sure, being F2P it was easier for Halo Infinite or Destiny 2 to get more user. But as can seen above Helldivers 2 passed most huge paid relatively similar games, and even most huge F2P ones like Warframe.

lol maybe the superbowl saved this game since the majority of people just went to watch the game instead of playing helldivers when matchmaking was the most busted

Halo’s steam launch was its F2P portion only…

Considering halo made zero dollars and Helldivers is $40.

Helldivers is way more successful. 😂

Yeah, and it's possible HD2 will still beat Halo Infinite's steam CCU later this week. it's insane to think that what was once such a massive Franchise has probably made less money than a AA game from a small studio.

Game is fun as shit. Sony needs to ramp up marketing asap for this game.
It should have had a Super Bowl ad.
The loop is repetitive but it's so dynamic and fun during combat that it doesn't make the game stale (for now) quarterly updates will definitely be needed to keep longevity.
