We really need Xbox to exit the market officially and for a new player to give it a shot (maybe even Nintendo).

Arrogant Sony thinks it’s the Apple of console gaming having a misconceived notion that their brand name is enough to matter what they do.

Thats until Apple decide to join the console market.

Sony PlayStation will go the way of the Sony Walkman.

Unfortunately the top brass of Sony are thinking short term profits and don’t realise how much damage they are doing long term.

So "weak" PC numbers in UK and France means the PC is dying?

Is the survival of PC gaming up to people in the UK and France?
The 6th and 7th largest economies in the world? Yes it's kind of up to them, considering that China/India which are ahead of them are large due to size, not per capita spend, and India is mobile central.

Then explain to me why Steams ccu numbers for both daily active users keeps going up and why new games keep breaking records?

10 years ago, an AAA game like Resident Evil 7, Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy etc. would be happy to reach 50k ccu, I remember people being suprised when RE6 hit 11k ccu on Steam. Now those games are reaching numbers in the hundeds of thousands.

MH World outsold the console versions everywhere outside of Japan.

Indies are releasing first and foremost on PC too while releasing later or not at all on consoles despite selling fantastic on PC. Imagine how much Nintendo/MS/Sony will be fighting for console exclusivity on Haunted Chocolatier while Valve will still get it regardless on day 1.

Some indies are doing so well on PC/Steam they are selling more copies than aaa games like Valheim, Lethal Company, Palworld etc.

We also know what Shuhei Yoshida often looks at Steam for indie games.

Chinese and Indian guys aren't about to start buying Sony single player AAA games anytime soon.

It must be all the people giving up on Xbox and PlayStation and moving to PC. Making even less sense that Sony decided to help PC anyway they can.

Dying platform. Piracy murdered software sales on the old consoles til they put better protections in place. Now consoles reach ridiculous revenue and tie ratio numbers while piracy-prone platforms are looked upon with disdain.
Didn't BG3 sell 10+ million on Steam? It's one thing to say there are people on PC who pirate, it's another to say that is the only demographic on PC.

No, it was a rumor from some Belgian embassy, but it did sell 2.5 million in early access and since the early access was only on Steam, GOG and Stadia, it's fully expected the game sold like 2,4m at least on Steam in early access, this was also when the game had like 60k reviews on Steam, now it's at 500k+ reviews.

A game that has nothing to do with Sony style AAA single player games. If PC players weren't buying PC type games then they wouldn't even exist in the first place.

BG3 also had a long early access, strong player feedback, post release dev support and a multiplayer component.

I'm not talking about a rumour I'm referencing Steamdb numbers. Almost 1m ccus on steam alone is indicative of large paying userbase considering, afaik, BG3 is cracked and there isn't any DRM on it.

Just ignore him he's completely unhinged. PC revenue for games is $40 billion, revenue for the entire console market which includes licensing, games, merchandise, console hardware, peripherals and so on and so forth is only $53 billion dollars.

Somehow it's unsustainable to invest an make single player games that sell 10m+ even 20m+ on PlayStation but somehow investing on porting those same games to PC where they'll be cracked day one, exposing them to mass piracy and selling a fraction of that on Steam with Valve getting a 30% cut makes those games viable.

Sony deserves to lose their grip on their console market since they clearly do not value it.
If Sony decided to continue to follows xbox footsteps ( giving away games for competing platform)

Hypotetical scenario that could happen in the future :

Playstation slowly crumbles like Xbox

More player will flock to Nintendo, Nintendo will get more revenue and gets better * capable of producing cutting edge nextgen console

New player enter the game * probably apple or samsung

If youre a gamer and not attached to a certain console brand then i suppose were still gona be happy

Im still holding out for Disney slopbox.

Samsung has chance to buy the Xbox brand way back when and turned it down. EA were second dibs on it but also turned it down.
This was back at the end of the xbox360 gen so who knows what would happen now.

PlayStation will grow with PC they just need to figure out a way for their games to be of interest to the PC demographic.

I don't hate to say it but the reality is day one releases is the only way this is going to happen.

Very few people are going to be interested in old games that are almost full price.

There's no hype surrounding them, there's no discussion, there's no marketing buzz, there's nothing that makes the act of getting this "new" game exciting.

All of the natural external things which make you want to spend money on a game do not exist for these titles, and that entirely stems from their price relative to their release timing.

I'm fairly comfortable saying it's likely sold 20m+ by now. There won't be many sales at all on Xbox, so even at 50:50 split 10m paying customers on PC didn't pirate the game.

With this logic Xbox will have sold nothing and somehow they are still very close in terms of units sold with the Xbox One. It's a lot of hyperbole without real evidentiary finding.

I have observe you

And its become obvious youre a pc elitist or at least pc gamers

So i understand your viewpoint

And its meaningless to me

As the oposite to what happen right now are contrary to what you say

Xbox brand continue to sunk with their current strategy of gamepass and day one pc release
