Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered flops on Steam

Lego Horizon comes out the same time as the PS5 Pro. It made so much sense to keep it exclusive (along with the Remastered) and do something fun with it for promos, astrobot family bundles or pack-in, etc. It will be a reverberating multiplat flop instead with more CCU threads.

I know I can play it on my cheap laptop so I'll wait for a deep sale or PS+.
Fun fact. Games like Lego horizon where the type of family friendly universal/more creative games PS used to make in the PS1-PS3 to draw in a new audience towards the PS in both making those games under 1st party to advertise the PS console as a family friendly universal platform but to also market to Asia region where smaller quirky/colorfull games are preferred in those regions.

It’s not what PS is doing contradicts there philosophy even to todays PS signs deals to keep games of competing platforms why make those deals if even your first party is releasing on 2 competitors platform day 1. Imagine how that looks for indies & publishers like Square that make there games exclusive to PS why would they keep making there games exclusive if even PS is releasing not only multiplat but on 2 competitors platform day 1. There entire strategy contradicts there philosophy & competitiveness against competitors. It’s why Xbox has a hard problem trying to lock exclusive because why let Xbox sign exclusive for your own games when Xbox is releasing day 1 on PC & in Xbox case there own console platform has imploded so 3rd party is going to reject & release games on PS simultaneously

Xbox devalued their brand with pc releases initially, and it snowballed from there. At least for Xbox, MS owning Windows was an excuse. For some reason Sony is too blind to see it. Concerning.
I don't think they're too blind to see it. They were literally asked about pc ports impacting console sales at one of their quarterly investor calls, they just brushed it off. IMO top brass are ignoring the brand damage for short term gains and it's going to backfire massively.

I try to be a bit more balanced than I used to be...I think it's important to not encourage things to spiral one way or another.
Generally comes with age*. That has been my life story at least. I will have a year under my belt here next week! You have done a great job with the forum IMO, and are fair.

You don't need to worry about that. Lego Horizon is number 818 on Steam, yesterday it was 900+. It will be the biggest PC flop after Concord.

Normally, it should open their eyes about all the damage these ports did to their business but it won't. Sony is the dumbest company out there. A luxury brand giving away their goods like it's trash 🤡

They made their bed. Now we can just point and laugh until they go 3rd-party like Sega and Xbox 🤭
b...b..but it is day one on Steam. Another flop PC port :ROFLMAO:
And unlike Concord it's actually doing pretty good in PS store pre-orders. Another game will be carried by PS players.

Guess who was the person that brush off the concerns from investors about the pc releases/pc port diminishment on the PS hardware, storefront & entire ecosystem.

PS games on PC have almost completely evaporated all of its prestige, aura & desire any more of this & we could see the same happen on PS itself especially if they think of going day n date which instead of getting more sells in the long run PS players will just fully migrate to PC making PS loose out on 100% of the game sells + mtx & other sells on the PS storefront. The pc strategy just doesn’t make sense. Releasing multiplayer games (w a few caveats like LBP, GT7 etc) should release on PC day 1 but there focus needs to be on making multiplayer games that can thrive & survive of the PS4 & PS5 community alone then expand them to PC or mobile depending the game.

You want a taste of GOW or Horizon here’s a multiplayer gaas game that we could milk you for years & let you get a taste of the universe but if you want to play the singleplayer games buy a PS console. This would be better & set the tone on how PS will treat PC & mobile but what they’ve done now is give mix singles for PS, PC & even Xbox/Nintendo players that bought or would buy a PS5/PS6 to longer buy one on the future & just save money & wait which isn’t hard because you only have to wait 1 year max & PS multiplayer games are day n date & even some more experimental games like Lego Horizon are day n date on PC with the PC version looking to be a flop when it could’ve been used to diversify the PS5 catalog w a family friendly exclusive game that push & advertise the PS5, PS5 pro & PS portal & future hardware.

You can also say because Lego horizon is on PC day 1 it devalues PS+ & its subscription because it no longer has as much value when you can get the game on deep discount on PC or pirate it day 1 which people have done.

With console gamers it's always about intangibles: prestige, aura, desire... just say you can't do list wars with those games and call it a day.

It's just a piece of software that now runs on other machine that can do it better provided you have the money.

Imagine if a PC gamer said... Civilization and Xcom had lost its aura now that they can be played on consoles... ridiculous.

Hermen doesn't give a shit about PS console sales. That is their stupid decision about having two different CEOs.

"This is not co-CEOs; it's two CEOs for the company," Nishino says. "Hermen runs his thing, I run my thing, and then we get together to talk about how to grow the business." Nishino acknowledges the tension inherent in the structure but spins it as a healthy dynamic: "Growing the business for success has a conflict as well: how we impact each other or how we want to sacrifice or not. It's a balance. It's an opportunity and a risk part."
I can see Nishino being angry at Hulst as "PS Studios" doing a bad job at pushing PS5 and PSVR2 hardware

There are some more moderate console gamers. Some people like them because they're relatively cost effective, easy to setup, and maintain.

I do hear what you're saying though. At the end of the day, it is a personalized computer, and thus also a PC by definition. It's just a specialized system for gaming, with a more robust connected ecosystem of accessories and applications.

Should have said a subset of Sony gamers. Aura reminds me of skip Bayless talking about MJ "intangibles" "will to win" "clutch gene"

Just said the guy had Stern and the refs in his pocket because he made the league tons of cash in the 90s.
