Naughty Dog used to be efficient
From uncharted 2 (2009) to uncharted 3 (2011) to the last of us (2013)
Idk what happened to them now
Neil Cuckmann took over and Naughty Dog has been a disaster ever since

No I understand why they went for Bungie and I won't trash Bungie as I thoroughly enjoyed my time with both Destiny and Destiny 2. They are talented and have the potential to make another huge GaaS. Hopefully going forward with the backing of Sony they will ease back on their predatory business model though.Sony should never have wasted their money on Bungie, they should have gotten Capcom or Bandai Namco instead.
Coming from working with UE5 everyday, I can say that there are a few things to speed up production and most studios are doing it now. In sequels, you can reuse assets. If it's an original, you have to bite the bullet because you are starting from scratch.View attachment 3249View attachment 3250View attachment 3252View attachment 3251
With games taking now we'll over three years to develop we are now finding ourselves well into console generations (some games are going to release midway in between the gen) before we get games that harness the systems capabilities. What do you think can be done to speed up development. Some things that are being used for good or for worse.
Al for development of different aspects of gaming.
Known engines, framework and tools (if created well allow devs to prototype faster and write less code)
Reusing assets from past games in sequels
What else can be done? Obviously the open world chase has made games so much more complex. Want to hear your thoughts because waiting for certain first party games is indeed frustrating and hearing about mid gen refreshes when we know devs haven't even been familiar with current consoles to me is superflous.
Bungie, SIE Publishing, PS Studios management and the PS Studios teams (so not only Bungie) are part of a Live services center of excellence team, a team that reviews the different GaaS specific parts of all the SIE live service games. We're still blaming him for Bungie"s jealously of Factions being better than Marathon so they got it delayed?
This never happened.I still think it was shitty of Sony to give Bungie to authority to go and evaluate a studio like Naughty Dog's multiplayer game.
Nuh, assets doesn't add development time. Developers used to make cgi cutscenes back then which uses high detailed assets. So, no.Those three games are the work of two dev teams and a separate art department, and as you should know by now that games take longer to make now due to requiring much more detailed assets.
Bungie, SIE Publishing, PS Studios management and the PS Studios teams (so not only Bungie) are part of a Live services center of excellence team, a team that reviews the different GaaS specific parts of all the SIE live service games.
So Bungie can't delay a PS Studios game, if a PS Studios game is delayed or not is decided by the PS studio in charge of the game -in this case ND- and the PS Studios editorial team (a different one from the live service center of excellent, this one is in charge instead of greenlighting game pitches and game development milestones of all PS Studios games).
This never happened.
Bungie only joined SIE publishing and PS Studios in a team (so it isn't Bungie only) where the SIE experts of these GaaS specific areas -servers, metrics, game design, economy designers, monetization, production etc.- who review and guide only the GaaS parts of all SIE GaaS games.
This team doesn't review or delays the games themselves, for PS Studios this is made by a separate team where Bungie isn't present.
I'm telling you, more game devs on crank will lead to more creativity and greatly compressed development timelines!Good points all. I really hope we reach a point where development becomes faster and easier.
Smh here you come having to ruin the joke. Of course because your a fish you think you have to defend and explain Everything thts "non human" Bro go jerk your gills off or something "the boys" style. This is a dust bath, creatures like chinchillas and squirrels use it to clean and maintain their fur, which helps keep parasites of them
Chickens do it too sometimes.
That's not cocaine bear part 2 FFS

They know this, the problem is how do you make giant budget games more efficiently I believe...
