Still better specs than a PS5 Pro for just a $100 more and you can upgrade the parts down the line if you want
"specs" lmao... do you build computers? a lot of prebuilts especially the box store ones don't achieve nearly their "spec" because they're built by people who cut the sharpest of corners in the name of price efficiency. some don't even have case airflow or fuck up the TIM application. Would not touch with a 10' pole. Also >intel 14th gen, good luck

That PC is marketed toward the average consumer and not a hardcore PC gamer tech enthusiast

exactly. the average consumer isn't going to know that if they don't update their bios the intel chip will destroy itself within a couple of years. That's why the rating is so low. Good job finding a prebuilt that literally melts down to counter the ps5 pro, you really showed those console peasants

Guarantee it will be hot and noisy. These have the worst parts inside.
And still it’s not complete. 1tb and that intel explodes or something lol

More storage doesn't due anything for performance in games you really believe everything Mark Cerny tells you like it's the gospel don't you
He never said the fast SSD would improve graphical performance. You either are unable to comprehend his statements or trying to gaslight people.

No one would mock people who don't whine and throw a tantrum when a product that isn't for them is priced above what they "feel" is "fair" - regardless of whether it actually is.
Lol.

Actually there is.
There isn't. Sony announced they stopped losing money with each PS5 sold in 2021 and they didn't reverse that announcement. The previous year mentioned losses on hardware due to promotions, clearly indicating they're not losing money on MSRP.

You also have to pay distribution fees for retailers. You think Walmart and Gamestop is taking $0 per sale?? Hardly anyone orders from the playstation direct store.
Sony isn't spending $100 on distribution.

Those prices aren't listed by speed. 14gb/s GDDR6 is much less expensive than, say, 20gb/s GDDR6. For example GDDR6X (21gb/s) from Micron is estimated to be 3-4x as expensive as the basic GDDR6.
GDDR6X is a completely different product than regular GDDR6. It uses PAM4 signaling. 18Gbps definitely doesn't cost 2x more than 14Gbps in 2024.

Well then complain to your government that your VAT is too high. Personally I'd take the increase in VAT over having our nightmare healthcare system, but you do you.
VAT is too high but the premium they're applying on European customers over American ones goes way higher than the average 22% VAT + 1 year warranty extension.
Especially on the bluray drive where Sony extorts $133 from Europeans compared to $80 from Americans.

It said "mainly" due to promotions. Since then they've raised prices and promotions have stopped, something they would have known when they made the FY forecast. You're reaching really hard now, especially when Hiroki Totoki directly answered an investor question saying they weren't going to make a price cut to the PS5 due to increases in component costs... THIS YEAR. Not in 2021.

Cool facts bro

They can do that because in the US Sony still has some competition from Xbox. In Europe and South America they can price gouge as much as they want due to the extreme (football club like) levels of fanboyism there is for Playstation (makes icon era look tame by comparison)

You can see in other threads here how they suggest increasing prices further instead of expanding to other platforms in a controlled manner to reach more users.

Icon eras end game of a PS2 like monopoly will bite them in the ass. You'll get a more expensive and lazier Playstation as a result.

Just like it happened to Intel during the Bulldozer/Piledriver/Excavator era of AMD. Or the no Steam no buy crowd. Thankfully steam keeps improving even if theres little competition.

Hilarious when PS2 is the best generation till date, whatever microsoft or xbox do they will never get my money. Xbox can sell the most powerful console for 200$ next gen and I still wont buy it.

Maybe they come up with Gamepass Next!

Pay 40$/Month for 2 years, with the Console included, similiar to Smartphone Contracts.

Just like I said... Hooligan/Barrabravas/Torcida Organizada/Ultras level of fanboyism.

Once a corporation knows that, the customer is screwed short term.
