I mean they did shaft Europe pretty bad in 2021 and 2022 because they assumed their blue fort would hold strong and wait on them. Sales totally fell off faster than they anticipated after last April in that region and that's a huge reason why they missed the targets.

They have an uphill battle the entire generation because of pricing, the botched PC strategy, Nintendo eating their lunch all across Europe, Switch 2 will demolish them unless something goes terribly wrong... Their games release strategy is a bust till 2026... They need a good $100 permanent price drop this Xmas but the CEO already said they will bypass price promotions and accept lower sales for higher margins.

Eh I' don't think losing COD marketing will matter much, it's Europe that's where people will buy COD anyways on PS5 WITH OR without marketing.

Final Fantasy brand imploded this generation, so it's not a huge loss for Sony if the next game isn't exclusive. If Switch 2 starts getting Final Fantasy exclusives then, yeah, Sony needs to start sweating because that snowball effect will affect other franchises

COD is insanely huge, marketing for this franchise do matter and even tho FF is not as popular as it used to be in the past, it is a huge game in Japan and was fundamental for the success of PS5 in Japan, a part of the fanbase of this franchise will now be divided between Switch 2 (specially in Japan), PS5 and PC, instead of just PS5 like it used to be, Sony had the biggest JRPG franchise on their hand and the big FPS franchise on their hand... they no longer have it... it all counts at the end of the day.

My point is COD will sell on PlayStation with or without a marketing deal. They had the deal for basically a decade and 3 years of this generation, the base is already built it. Nobody is Europe is gonna rush out to buy an Xbox for COD lol.

And we don't know if FF isn't PS exclusive anymore. For all we know FF7 Part 3 could be another timed exclusive

Just making some math here there is room at max to PS4 Europe be 2.5m ahead PS5 Europe.... no more than that.
Unless in Asia / America Latina PS5 so much ahead PS4 that cover that gap to Europe be over 5 million behind.
