It seems PlayStation sold more than assumed 155 million PS2 consoles. Ex-CEO Jim Ryan claims Sony sold 160 million PS2s. Making it quite a stretch for Nintendo to surpass this number provided by Jim Ryan himself.

The 160M number makes sense and is possible: the previous official, most recent PS2 sales number was that as of March 31, 2012 had shiped "more than 155.0 million units".

PS2 got discontinued in January 2013, meaning it was being produced (and sold) during almost a year after that "March 31, 2012" day. That FY2013 (April 2012-March 2013) they could have produced and shipped another round 5.0M, as they did in FY2012 (April 2011-March 2012).

We need Shu!!!!!
Nah, keep him where he wants to be: scouting and supporting indies.

At least a couple months more, which is when in theory I'll meet him personally to show him a couple games I've been working on.

End of an era. He wasnt perfect but he delayed the ABK deal for so long that that may have been one of the key catalysts of xbox leaving the hardware market. That and navigated covid and ps5 launch as best they could. Made some good acquisitions and some not so good ones. Revamped ps plus enough to make gamepass null and void IMO. B- CEO IMO.
