I'm a gamedev with more than a decade and a half of working experience and I know what I'm looking at: another 4chan fake leak that has several mistakes and nonsensical stuff that proves that whoever wrote it doesn't work at Sony and doesn't have a basic gamedev knowledge.
No, you're using an authoritarian fallacy worst of all citing yourself as that authority for a document that is completely contextually vacant.

You can't even begin for a second to determine what this actually is, its age, why there are apparent inaccuracies, where it came from or how it came to exist.

You're trying to illogically fill in gaps with information you simply do not posses in a very ignorant and snobbish fashion. It's unbecoming and you should be more humble.

100% fake:
  • GaaS is not a game genre, it's a business model. This is written by someone without basic gamedev knowledge
  • Ronin shows "TBC" as genre and engine (they started to work in this game 7 years ago, obviously Sony knows the genre and engine since the moment they signed the game)
  • Horizon VR doesn't have listed a game engine, wtf
  • London's engine listed as "Custom" instead mentioning its name like in the case of Decima or Unreal. This isn't a Sony employee and doesn't have that Decima is also a custom engine
  • Ballistic Moon is listed as using Decima as engine. This is wrong, they are confirmed to be using Unreal Engine 5 for their game
  • It's also funny that the supposed leaker forgot to mention PS4 when listing platforms
  • If they include XDEV Japan titles and this list is old, where is Death Stranding Director's Cut or Stellar Blade?
  • If they include 1st party European internal studios like Guerrilla or Firesprite, why don't they mention Media Molecule? They are still working on Dreams plus in unannounced projects, and XDEV works with them
  • It shows as "primary engineer" a "junior engineer. How would Sony place as a primary engineer a junior engineer? It's a dumb idea, they should be a lead engineer or at least a senior engineer. This list has been written by someone without basic gamedev knowledge. It's a clear fake.
  • Why would Sony need to list the game engines, platforms or if games are multiplayer or not in an excel file? Doesn't make sense. If it's to know in what projects XDEV Europe has some of their engineeers assigned or in charge, they'd only assign the name of the project and the name of the dev.
  • Sony said multiple times they won't release their games day one on PC, even explained it with drawings but many of you and these supposed leakers don't want to accept it.
This list is a joke, can't be from Sony or from game development staff.

What if its real, but that game dev is just some fuck up, I mean...they did leak it after all lol

Yes, the Nvidia leak. Did you enjoy GT7, HFW and Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection available at launch on PC? They never happened, THIS IS A FACT.

How about the Ghost of Tsushima PC port, Hellblade 2, Scaleboud, Resident Evil Outbreak, Final Fantasy 9 Remake and Mario x Rabbids, all released this year according to the list, in addition like over a dozen or two of other Sony, MS, Capcom or Square games -to name a few- that are in the Nvidia list? Again, they never happened and won't happen because they are bullshit. How about Deracine? According to the list Sony was going to release it this year on PC. But guess what, they won't because Sony doesn't release VR games on PC.

You're always right, even though you've been proven wrong multiple times.

The Nvidia list is 100% real and this list is also 100% real. Find a way to deal with it.

I always enjoy witnessing those who dispute legit leaks because of trivial timeline discrepancies and/or minor details lost in translation.

It’s possible something might even get cancelled that leaks. So? Still legit.

Exactly. And the methodology for the Nvidia leak was provided online by the Engineer that got the data. It's a legitimate leak.

He never said 'these games are coming to PC', he mined data and shared it. Now, would it make sense that games on the list were tested for other purposes than to release them on PC? No.

Sometimes I wonder how people in the industry, or that claim to be in the industry, lack so much awareness on how it works. Timelines are ample, release dates are only set when the company reveals them, etc. Hell, you may even sit on a fully completed game for months before you find the appropriate date.

Well here’s the thing…

They’re still trying to make new IPs; which is fantastic. As are the newer partnerships they’ve established with smaller upstart studios.

However, when it comes to already established IPs. They’re going all in making each one be some massive tentpole release cross media mega push. Horizon is next. Good luck.

In a time when everything is marvel … at least they’re working with some new ideas.

Huge risk. Exciting tho

Death Stranding could legit end up being an hbo series starring reedus. I’m sure Kojima would sell his soul to kinda direct a few.

OK, I get your point with the way this list is drawn out.

But aside from the irrelevant details - are the actual GAMES on that list and the platforms for release acurrate? I think that's what people are concerned about. No one cares about the engines or the release dates.

I think even the releases times in the list are very outdated.
I don't believe Sony devs uses a so amateur Excel sheet when you have proper tools that do and manage that worksheet automatically.

I agree.. but I wasn't thinking that the Excel sheet was official. I think people just put it that way. I wouldn't pay attention to any release dates or engines. All the world is interested in is the game itself and the platform it will be played on.

They are not irrelevant details: it has key data wrong or missing. Like important multiple European or XDEV games that aren't there.

And whoever wrote it doesn't know basic gamedev stuff like that a junior won't be in charge of a multimillion dollars project, or even list properly game genres or engines. I imagine the conversation:
"-Hey, who should be the primary engineer for the most important PSVR2 launch game?
-An unnamed junior engineer, for sure
-Hey, why do we only have two engineers per project?"

It doesn't make sense at all.

And well, the format itself of the document: this is not an internal document from a multibillion dollar corporation, it's a random spreadsheet made by a random 4chan user listing random info that doesn't make sense to be there for a Sony/XDEV employee (like listing the game engine, the studio making it or if it's multiplayer) but instead it's 'juicy' for a 'leak'.

It's a fake document.

People whip up janky documents at any given job, all the damn time.

Like I really have to wonder what some of your professional experience is if you think this is so far fetched.

The focus is on timelines and resources assigned to work.. the other fields having "TBC" (to be confirmed) on them or not particularly accurate stuff like "GAAS" thrown on isn't surprising at all.

These aren't "Release dates" either, this is clearly a "what the team will be supporting during which time stretch".. and as far as I can tell things line up. Horizon 2 main dev would have ended around Jan 2022 would it have not? Then they'd have already started DLC work, and according to this, started the PC port.

So what is wrong with the dates? Maybe I'm missing something.

God so many just shit points being made this thread is going to be a pain to actually argue in lol

OK. It's a fake document.

But are the games and their various platforms correct?

We know some of the games are real because we already knew them before the list was posted and we even knew in some cases platforms, in some cases game engine, platforms or even codenames.

In fact, we know that the list is bullshit because -in addition to other reasons- we know that some of the info posted there is wrong because we already knew it from before the list was posted. As an example, the game engine of the Ballistic Moon game.

It's a fake, so the games added there and their platforms are only fan guesses or copy pasted stuff from rumors, leaks or simply educated guesses. Example:

  • Sumo Digital made a ton of games for Sony in the past and Sackboy did perform well, so even if acquired by Tencent they could make another one. So added it there 'Carbon'
  • Twisted Metal was rumored to be under development at Lucid and later moved to Firesprite, so added there a car combat game (I think the 'genre' column has been added by the 'leaker' to let us know this game is Twisted Metal, because a Sony/XDEV wouldn't need that column in the document)
  • Norman Reedus mentioned twice to be working on Death Stranding 2 and Kojima pretty much almost confirmed it, so listed it there even if the 'leaker' didn't know that the Japanese XDEV games are handled from the Japanese XDEV team (previously Japan Studio, now promoted to have their own office) and not by the XDEV team from UK
  • Most big selling PS4 exclusives got a PS5 SKU or remaster, so why not Horizon? It's a good guess, so the 'leaker' added there a remake
  • We know Ballistic Moon, ex-Until Dawn devs, is working for Sony on an spiritual Until Dawn successor. So listed a game from them as 'survival horror' (note: Until Dawn isn't a survival horror, the leaker clearly have no idea about game genres)
Regarding platforms, the leaker may have heard in the interwebs Sony is relasing all their games day one on PC, so added many of them for PC, and by the same people who develop the game. Guess what, only some games get ported to pc and aren't ported by the original team. Sony uses Nixxes and external teams like Iron Galaxy or Jetpack to handle the ports, not XDEV. And they are ported after the game is done, not during development (but I assume that for future games during development the games will start to have some stuff done to make later the potential porting easier).

So what is wrong with the dates? Maybe I'm missing something.
If 'Horizon Online' is really the MP where Gueriilla is working on since 2018, why XDEV staff is added there this past October? First, being an internal team wouldn't need XDEV engineers. Second, that engineer must be so fucking stressed working on six projects at the same time. This spreadsheet is fake as fuck.

Hey, 'Horizon VR' is almost gold because we heard today will launch with PSVR2 early 2023. But guess what, according to this document XDEV engineer was added last October, when the game must have been in development during several years.

Destruction All Stars was released on Feb 21, tanked and got dead after release, basically no support. Why would they need XDEV engineers? The rumored Twisted Metal was supposed to be under development since while ago but according to this 'leak' didn't get XDEV engineer until January 2022, why not before?

Rise of the Ronin has been under development since 7 years ago, and according to Team Ninja they have been working during years with Sony. But according to this document they got a XDEV staff only starting this January. And weirdly enought is staff from UK team instead of the XDEV Japanese team, who is the one who works with them.

TLDR: I can go through basically all projects. It's bullshit, most of these projects didn't have XDEV engineers or needed them years ago but according to this fake document got them months ago, in some cases when they didn't need them.

Happy to see 2 survival horror games. Might I see the fruition of supermassive-sony relationship in some form yet?

Ahem. Where... In the blue hell... Is TLOU Factions Standalone? At this point I'm considering selling PS5 and looping back in like 2-3 years. In all likelihood that realistically means shuffled over to pc, with even less reason to return if I go Gpd win 4.
