Lego Horizon Adventure sales are not looking good...

It's performance as it relates to CCUs (which again are not a sales metric) seems entirely in line with Lego games on PC. You basically have to pretend like Sony was banking on Steam sales for this release and now just putting it on Steam because it costs them next to nothing to do so.

No it doesn't, this is a lie. Its peak CCU is well under the average of modern LEGO games; it's barely ahead of some of the 360/PS3-era LEGO games that got late ports to Steam (or if they weren't late ports, got Steam releases when the platform was in its relative infancy).

Even if the game sold 25,000 copies on Steam at 60 dollars,

It's likely closer to 10K, not 25K. And remember, Steam keys are a thing where those users can get the game as under-MSRP.

that's 1.5 million dollars in revenue... it's a no brainer.

It's pitiful, especially considering Valve take their 30% cut out of that. Then, considering the costs of the port, that'd put them in the red for the Steam version. That's a failure.

The steam release will probably cover the advertising budget of the game

Those Youtube & Twitch ads cost more than $1.5 million.

and who knows how many grandparents and parents will just decide to get this for their kid for Christmas, it could do a fair bit more than that.

Well on PS5, I expect a lot of those same parents are more likely to get them Astro Bot. On Switch, they're likely to get them some Mario game, be it Odyssey, Brotherhood, or Jamboree. And on Steam, well, there's just a ton of other choices to be had.

I don't think the holidays will be as kind to LEGO Horizon as your hopium is hyping.

The IP is definitely the problem. Pointing to Horizon sales is missing the forest for the trees. Those games are graphical benchmarks with unique combat against robot dinosaur shits. These are fucking lego games. Lego Batman sells because people want a LEGO game where they're BATMAN! No one wants to be fucking Aloy.

I think Lego God of War would have made more sense.

Of course Hermen chose Horizon for obvious reasons.

I don't think the Lego Company would let them do God of War. They're very protective of what the allow to become Legos and there is adult material in the GoW games beyond just a lot of blood.

As far as the PR goes, Lego wanted to do Horizon. Which is believable since they already did the tallneck lego set.

Lego God of War makes zero sense. It's not a family friendly character or franchise. Lego Uncharted would have maybe made the most sense, but I don't think Horizon was far behind.

Surprise we haven’t seen numbers for this 🤭 big flop being brushed off by the media.

The game itself is almost rated 3 star in the PS storefront 😭😭 it be funny to see Guerilla games & the Horizon both implode by poor leadership

His legacy will always be the guy to co sign both concord & firewalk & closing the game & studio withing world record time

You ain't hearing about numbers until next April when they have to explain if the move to Switch was a success.

But we should wait till after December to see how this game sells in all fairness.

How we got DQ3 remake numbers but not Lego Horizon. 🤔

I don’t expect the game to sell during the holidays. Negative/low reviews & high price tag for even families & hardcore. Should’ve been priced at a aggressive $40-$50

Sad seeing a good opportunity of an exclusive game to cultivate the PS platform & storefront w a more fun/universal game be forgotten day 1 w no hype or even conversation surrounding the game. I dont even see many lets play YouTubers play Lego Horizon feels similar to Until Dawn.

Also wonder if will see numbers for Until Dawn that game also came & went w no numbers even thoe it looks like a flop. Not sure how the studio behind Until Dawn survives

I'm saying Sony will not have any milestone sales announcements until maybe their April fiscal report. We will get Circana information and UK / European data next month

It should be interesting. Wondering if investors will ask about concord & wtf happen considering they spent millions on the studio acquisition with also until dawn, horizon remake & horizon fw flopping & overall pc port sells showing a decline trend while at the PS front lacking behind PS4 & showing little gains from Xbox imploding & no longer being competitors

Lego Horizon Adventures/Concord.....what are the other two flops?
For these obsessed doomers, maybe even Helldivers 2, Astro Bot and Destiny 2 The Final Shape.

Like Astro Bot and Until Dawn, Lego Horizon falls under Sony defined as their "experimental" projects: smaller ones to test the waters of new audiences, in sometimes new genres or platforms.

In case of kid friendly games like Astro or Lego Horizon, they normally sell most of their units in the pre-Christmas season and have longer legs than most other game types. So Sony will wait for a while to analyze if these lower budget products are successful or not.

In case of Astro they already mentioned to be happy with it regaring how is helping to expand in the desired new audience, and I assume even more after they get some awards and nominations. Like the other Lego games, Lego Horizon didn't get the critical acclaim and awards and apparently didn't get great sales numbers at launch. But who knows how it's going to perform in the Christmas season and the long term.

In any case, as a lower budget experimental title even if doesn't end selling as they desired, can be positive for them as an experiment because can help them teach lessons of where did they succeed and where did they fail in each area with this game and related ones (as could be by comparing against Astro).

In general SIE is selling better than ever with record revenues and profit. So they will be fine even if some minor project underperform from time to time.
