Thats what happens when you have people who have no passion for video games being CEO’s. Its just numbers for them

I expected it to be around 70 rated game, unfortunately the suits going to look at sales on this one cause that's what it is for.
But excellent metrics for the suits thus far.

Hopefully there are some gameheads there that would class something as a failure due to scores like they did before

Hilarious to see people angry/surprised that this is a kids game...

I think the bigger head scratcher is why is a kids game 60 bucks and I'm guessing it's that price because of the licensing agreements between Sony and Lego. Otherwise sensibility would have put this game around 40 dollars and the reviews would probably reflect differently based on the pricing.

I’m telling you rn if I was CEO of PS

1. No PS first party would be working on a license ip where Sony has no form of power like Spider-Man

2. A first party PS studio would not be working on a singleplayer multiplat release that releases day 1 on 2 of your biggest threat competitor storefront & hardware. (Is Lego Horizon Steamdeck approved?)

Lego horizon should’ve been handled by team gobo or some other 3rd party indie team that wouldn’t mind getting scraps to work for 2 major ips on a notable player in the gaming industry. Below 70 is insane after totoki said there would be more security on the games that passes why is Herman hiding he hasn’t shown his face in a long time even in the concord cancel blog he downplay the failure of concord saying the likes of the games wasn’t that bad in some areas like bruh concord was trash it had no IT factor as a multiplayer game from the game itself to the model ($40 when your competitors are free to play) to even the platform it released on, concord is trash but if it was a decent multiplayer game & launched on PS it wouldn’t have gotten the heat that it did w PC players & public ccu. Maybe make multilayer games that aren’t massively ambition ie PS Home, PS Allstars, LBP, Everybody Golf or if you go big use establish ip

Yeah that's the thing I don't think it is unfortunately, I mean it is a kid centric game I did not expect anything special.
Maybe for the franchise director on his performance review at best, the other suits care for sales and profit margins not that I think it will do exceptional there either.

You have to start building out a library for kids if you're going to get parents to buy the console for them.

This game will probably end up a 75 on metacritic, but do you know what doesn't really matter for kids games? Metacritic ratings.

Price and visibility is more important, which is why its puzzling that this is a 60 dollar game.

They probably should have made a bundle pack with the discounted PS5 - 380 + Lego Horizon + Astro Bot and marketed like that.

This is just the start of them creating a more family friendly portfolio.

Agree. With a metacritic of below 70 o don’t see this selling even 5+ million combine all together he’ll maybe even cracking 1-2 million could be hard cause of the low reviews (higher up likely looking for it to sell on par as mainline Horizon due to the price) if it was meant to attract family’s & younger audience it shouldn’t be price at $70 especially for how badly it’s being reviewed should’ve done a aggressive $40-$50 instead (not all PS games have to be price at a premium). PS, PC & Nintendo gamers aren’t buying a below 70 metacritic Lego horizon game. This will only sell to the hardcore hardcore Horizon fan which even them will pass as this is a 8 hour simple Lego game for full $70 price

Some of the low scores are laughable in their nature. Scores you'd see from games that are absolutely broken technically, but giving a game a 40 or a 50 because it is too easy is clearly showing a level of bias. There are kids games released all the time that are easy as hell that don't get 40s and 50s due to ease.

We are going to see concord numbers on steam and Nintendo will advertise the hell out of their own games this holiday season on their online stores. They greenlighted this useless spinoff for an IP no one likes and now on top of all that they made a mid game lol

See you would think that but current PS leadership & Herman would see a game bombing & loosing hundreds of million for there investment on PC/multiplat & double triple down on releasing multiplat even faster ending in a catch 22 where if I where to paint a picture PS is a snake eating its tail & you what happens when the snake reaches to the point of no return? As of now is 70 MC with only 46 reviews, 71 OC with 52 reviews. Seems it's on par for a Lego game, but being Sony should perform better.

That's too bad I always liked the art style on these Lego games. I don't know why they don't make them harder. Kids can game just fine.

Complaining that Lego games are simple is like complaining that grass is green. I have a shit ton of older lego to go at so I'll be passing. I'd still be passing if it was a 90 for the same reasons.
