I wasn't comparing with last gen because it's impossible. I meant Rise of the Ronin, Concord, Until Dawn, Horizon Remastered, GOW PC flopped, HFW PC flopped, TLOU PC flopped and Lego Horizon.

Even Astrobot should be selling more with that Metascore.

Concord and the remasters flopped because nobody wanted those and we all know that PC ports aren't exactly selling well.

Astrobot is doing well for a non Nintendo platformer and it's not like it'll just stop selling.

Rise of the Ronin isn't even first party but according to Koei, it's one of their fastest selling IP, even outpacing Nioh.

Lego Horizon remains to be seen since it hasn't even launched yet. The meta score is crap but it's still a Lego game and the target demographic doesn't care about scores.

These games we can directly compare to last gen:

Horizon 2 sold 8,5 million in its first year (The first game sold 7,6 in the same timeframe)

Spiderman 2 sold 11 million after 6 months (Just like the first game did in the same timeframe on a larger installbase)

Ragnarok sold 15 million in its first year

GT7 already surpassed GT Sports total sales and is still going.

The audience on console is still there (PC is another story) There just hasn't been much to talk about in the last 1-2 years outside of remasters and GaaS.

Truth of the matter is Connie Booth should have been the one promoted to replace Shu and not Hermen but they sabotaged her & then forced her out for their failed GaaS push.
Herman sleezy ass put more Guerilla games devs to the higher up. That’s how you know shit fuck when someone like him made so many wrong move if not classified as fiasco/disasters get put as charge w even his green light decisions blowing up while double downing on the fail strategy

Complete mismanagement of this IP with too many releases like it's Assassins Creed. Going multiplat backfire with no growth at all between each instalment.

HFW flopped on PC, Remastered flop again and this will be the biggest flop yet at number 216 on Steam. Sony killed any prestige their games had left, all because they forgot their roots and tried to go elsewhere on other platforms.

You reap what you sow.
I expect this game to sell 20+ million as a multiplat 💀 reality even if the game rides of the horizon & Lego ip that’s the power of 2 franchise it will likely do 1/4 around 5 million cap & that’s if the low scores don’t fuck up the sales then you could see 2-3 million max if that the tracking is similar to concord on PC & PS not sure how it’s performing on Nintendo but are we seeing Lego horizon only crack 500K-1 million? If so that’s a catastrophic bomb.

How much damage did Herman & Jim do to the PS brand? Horizon has been drag under the mud like a mf from unnecessary remaster & re releases to games no one ask for & those games being made under Guerilla games a PS first party instead of a 3rd party. No wonder Guerilla Games can’t even release the Monster Hunter horizon game that’s been in development for 6+ years 💀 poor management, lost of focus, & short sighted vision & ambitions.

You said Astrobot needs to go multiplat to grow the franchise when Horizon flatlined with no growth at all. The same will happen to Astrobot or any IP they try to expand on PC or Nintendo.

People just don't care anymore once you turn your back on your main customers. Look at Xbox, GOW PC, Until Dawn and now Horizon. Sony is killing their IPs for pennies.

I said this would happen and now we see the damage. Playstation studios = shovelware
We know the damage is real when even Xbox most notable releases do shit for its own platform. Xbox is look at the uncool & unnecessary thing to own or play now there at a point that they need to give there games almost free for there singleplayer to even get gamers at a high scale to play there games.

The hell, they’re own published game and not giving a fuck?
Likely because they was working on Lego horizon being multiplat less focus on pushing the platform including hardware & benefits they would know since there first party + the skip there own platform that being PS4 which o argue would’ve done better then Steam & maybe even Nintendo since there a huge fanbase in PS4 that played Horizon (Horizon franchise birthing in PS4 gen) it’s just a embarrassment. How do you skip PS4 your own platform but somehow release on Nintendo a direct competitor your own platform that you would get 100% of the cut the platform itself that’s stronger then Nintendo Switch 💀

PS trying play all sides they want to push PS5 so they skip PS4 but release on PC & Nintendo & is Lego horizon compatible with Steamdeck? Like bruh it’s ass backward.

And yet we were told the mighty LEGO force powerless Sony to put on PC so they could get more sales. It's looking like a disaster that won't break even.

Growing the franchise was always bullshit.
If Sony wanted to expand the audience just look at Nintendo. AA Horizon game annualized but exclusive so that they get the hardcore PS fan to support maybe even introduce themes back to the PS5 console & tie exclusive cosmetic such as avatar, themes & if PS home existed even some exclusive LEGO Horizon trophy/collectible on PS Home 2 to boost sales for those that would simply buy it just to collect exclusive & rare cosmetic/collectible.

Also if Herman/PS wanted to expand the ip to a younger crowd why is Lego Horizon $60-$70 it should’ve been price at a aggressive $40-$50 & have online coop.

Last of PS/herman wanted to expand the ip to a new audience just look at Nintendo w there parks. Partner w Universal & build a Horizon park at universal Japan, Florida, Cali etc or partner w Disney who’s likely willing to partner & build parks or introduce new franchises to there existing park to compete w Universal that will likely hold & grow w Nintendo as they continue to use Nintendo ip to build parks taking away from Disneyland

Horizon park
Loco Roco park
Demon Souls park/castle

We live in a world where it’s claimed that Sony Hardware and Software is selling poorly compared to before.

Yet their revenue is at an all time high with decent profit.

Madness.
Revenue don’t mean much & profits are abysmal if you compare it’s revenue.

If Ps has similar profits to revenue like Nintendo PS would be bringing around 15 billion in profits.

PS thinks by releasing games on PC & Nintendo they will reach this but they won’t. They will only get to this profit if they actually started making more games those being AA that cost significantly less & bring great profits like Nintendo games do & or consolidating & turning 3rd party publisher profits to your while also bolstering output lineup & monetizing PS own singleplayer & multiplayer games even more which they barely do at all

Low 70's is pretty much what I was expecting. Too short of a game and should have been $40 instead of $60. Even more so, probably should have been an Astro Lego game instead but oh well. Game will sell best on Switch with PS5/PC battling it out for second place. It's weird that it's not available on PS4 which is baffling since the first two main Horizon games are.

Pretty sure TT Games is owned by Warner Bros. so I don't see why they would allow their own studio to develop a game in which they don't own either IP to and waste years on a game that wouldn't benefit them at all.

PS5 Pro wise, it's a Lego game. What's the Pro going to do? Enhance the blocks? LOL

Price makes a big difference for a score it seems.
I didnt really use to think that but it hit me this week lol. Slitterhead £20 nice. Slitterhead £47… uh no

I’m enjoying it. I might check out some of the other Lego games. I love relaxing games like this one from time to time.
