Sony tried to snuff out Xbox, they very well would have thought they could buckle Xbox under pressure last gen where PlayStation was popping up games after games and Xbox could not do jack

first of all. xbox who refused to do cross play.
second, why is FF14 online is not on Xbox? educate.
third, all the other staff, both doing this. most of us don't support that, whomever is doing it.
This list is basically a ranking of the top grossing mobile gaming publishers a few years ago, removing the ones owned back then by Tencent or MS.
I think they made this list is only a first step to research interesting potential acquisitions in the mobile gaming market, to later further investigate each one of these cases to see who fit and further reduce the list.
I think this isn't a final list of companies they seriously planned to buy (all of them).
Everything you listed were practices that Microsoft started in the 360 era and actually deployed early in the Xbone Era. Congratulations.
Cross Play was refused by Xbox in the 360 era.
they refused in xbox one era too. we just don't know the scale of it. just SE came through with FF14 explanation. i bet, because they don't give a shit about xbox blacklisting them.
If MS bought Sony we would get:
- PlayStation 6S, a console slightly less powerful that the PS5.
- Dual Sense 2, with all features removed and AA batteries as the only "innovation".
- No PSVR.
- First person Uncharted, first person God of War, first person Astro Bot, Bloodborne by Playground Games, first person Spider-man were he is shooting a gun and so on.

That whole "let us have competition" line is even more laughable than many of us previously thought. My hope is that the ABK acquisition ultimately fails and customers continue to show that gamers want good games, not services and empty promises (and so keep choosing Sony and Nintendo). MS is more interested in winning (ie. dominating) than creating great games and a company like that buying their way to success - and a stranglehold on consumer choice and competition - is something that should not be allowed.
Yep. They need to be taken out the industry. Id rather anyone else apart from these scumbags. Samsung, Apple, Google, Amazon, whoever. MS just needs to fuck off from the games industry
Phil Spencer suggestion of them shutting Xbox off to create a Mobile game division instead would be the ideals scenario.
I would love MS to go tank the mobile gaming market.
