Just while we're discussing gameplay and things across RE titles, why didn't RE3make hit the same way RE2make did?

I know they nerfed RE2make's gore, made Nemesis into set piece fights instead of a pursuer enemy, RE3make's Racoon City was way different in first place and they removed/downgraded some locations (clock tower, hospital etc). Did it stray too far from RE3's story? Was it just rushed development for some reason?

I heard re2 remake had at one point 800 people working on it and that game still cut mothman, the place after the sewers that appeared in re0, spiders, and other things I cant remember. There was no way Capcom was willing to spend that kind-of budget on re3. It sucks since I know people loved re3 but I actually enjoyed re3 remake more than re2 remake. The gameplay felt more refined to me and the boss battles felt better to me as well. Carlos was amazing in the remake and if they only added Barry at the end I
Would of been happy! Also the sewers in re3 remake was better than the sewers in re2 remake imo

Edit, it was reported to be 800 people but we don't know that for sure https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2018/11/20/resident-evil-2-remake-developers-800/amp/

I preferred re3 remake as well. I really don't look forward to redoing the sewer section in 2make whenever I replay it. I still have RE3 Nemesis on ps3 whenever i want to play that

Exactly this.

It was an empty shell of the original RE3. A rushed Remake by Capcom simply to cash in on the success of RE2 Remake. The game literally felt like DLC.

RE2 Remake on the other hand was a perfect remake to OG RE2. It stayed faithful to the original and added much more to it.

No way some people here are saying RE3 remake was better than RE2 Remake. Unless you are from the RE4 onwards generation.

I mean seriously? Did you ever play the OG RE3?

RE3 Remake is universally considered a shite remake by most RE fans.

RE2 remake is missing giant spiders, mothman, that factory area that reappeared in RE0, and a common complaint in RE2 remake is that they messed up the lore. Apparently Leon kills birkin and watches annette die but claire does the same thing later in her story which is different from the original RE2, and the a and b scenarios arent much different from each other in the remake.
I'm not saying RE2 wasn't a great remake by any means but I much prefer the boss fights in RE3 remake compared to RE2 remake and I beat RE3 Nemesis the same day I got and beat RE3 remake.

That I agree with.

The A and B scenarios were a mess in RE2 Remake.

I don't consider REmake 2 a good remake... it left a lot of things behind.
Said that REmake 3 is atrocious.

BTW I hinted about that way before REmake 3 was a thing.

I just hope they take more time to add the content the original have instead to go with the lazy route like REmake 2.

And my opinion about REmake 2.

Jan 29, 2020
To be fair I played REmake 2 and while I found it a great game.... I found it a bad remake because it lacks too much things that made the original that great (enemies, plot, campaign, bosses, mechanics, etc).... it is basically a half done remake.
But I see others gamers saying it is amazing.

Capcom moved to the simple cash back with rushed development time lol

Shame REmake 2 and REmake 3.
Gamers deserves better REmakes.
