I think this deal is great for Nintendo, as they will get COD games for the next 10 years, but bad for Sony because they didn't sign that 10-year contract with Microsoft, and they could potentially lose COD games on their system anytime because Microsoft isn't obliged to release COD for Sony platforms.

Game Pass is going to become the Netflix of videogames. First, people are going to praise it for the abundant amount of content for an affordable price but then they will keep jacking up the price to a point where the savings is negligible unless you game like a jobless neckbeard. But unlikely TV streaming, making videogames takes way more time so it will be way more difficult to compete with MS’s library of games as they keep acquiring studios, and when their cloud tech matures, they’ll have absolute dominance in that segment. This is only my speculation but I dont have a good feeling about this.

I think it will fail. Video game production takes way more management and production chops than a film or tv show, something that Microsoft already lacks. The problem is that Bobby Kotick and Jim Ryan are right: game pass destroys the value of games. Microsoft is aiming to permanently change consumer behavior in gaming, even if it means they lose a shitton of money, just to make sure that no one else can survive. They would rather nuke the industry into the ground than let other companies succeed without them.
