Xbox fans are truly demented look at the type of fan art they post on Reseteras thread about the ABK acquisition and it's not even as a joke:
In the end all they want is for the Xbox to become PlayStation and still they refuse to buy the actual games that they pretend to value so much. They love Xbox yet want it to become the thing they hate.

Why do you read this nonsense, you guys just getting worked up for nothing. You shouldn’t pay much attention to this trolls. They are preaching for years that Microsoft will gobble up all big fishes in Japan. Some reputable figures like Genki, Dr. Serkan Toto and David Faulkner all of them called this wishful thinking of this Xbox fanboys out. These guys have zero knowledge about how economics and generally how the M&A work. Not to mention that Japan is known for having very strict rules for M&A, especially for American companies. In 2019 Japanese government have made their rules even more stricter for foreigners to acquire Japanese companies. It’s nearly impossible for Microsoft to get a Japanese gaming company. The only way would be a hostile takeover. But for hostile Takeovers the Japanese government has no mercy and does absolutely block them.

To add to what you're saying, Japanese titles are very niche on XBox. It's why many Japanese publishers skip XBox altogether and also why, despite Phil and co. talking about making a place for XBox in Japan, they've made very little effort to actually penetrate the Japanese market. Pouring money and resources into acquiring Japanese companies, were it even possible with the view the Japanese government takes on it, would be a very unsound business strategy for MS.
I just think that in a year or so time even the installed bases and established fanbases will be so bad for Microsoft that any Japanese company that would go for that would essentially KNOW no one is going to buy their games anymore.
Could Microsoft make a deal before hand with Nintendo so they get what they want out of it and use the us government to batter Japanese trade arrangements? I guess that’s the only way they could pull it off. I’m sure Sony would scream hostile takeover and accuse Nintendo of colluding with a foreign entity to undermine a Japanese one. Not sure how that would all work out but it’d be extremely ugly and the worst thing to come from it is the franchises would all die regardless.

I was just looking up to see if there was any info. I just found it funny how that type of stuff was being posted there as if it was normal, they at least used to bother with pretending.
MS buying a Japanese publisher would be like burning money, the audience just isn't there on Xbox.
MS buying a Japanese publisher isn’t about building an audience of gaining market share or whatever lie they’ll say, it’s about hurting Sony. That’s it. That’s the only reason. It’d be one less batch of games Sony could depend on to be associated with the brand and make money on.
Sony should buy a publisher in japan now obviously as a defensive move but also as a hub for if/when Microsoft does buy one, all the staff have a place to go to when they quit whoever Microsoft would theoretically buy.

Xbox hasn't had a PS caliber title in over 10 years. Imagine that. They scrape by indies and overhyped crap, like Halo Infinite.
And they do have some excellent IPs. Halo could have done wonders. BF2042 was a flop and COD started losing players. They could have done so much with that Halo title.

Xbox fan: Actually, they had significant releases like Pentiment (the best game released in 2022), Dusk Falls, Vampire Survivor and A Plague Tale Requiem, all in my top 5 games of 2022 alongside Persona 5. Sony on the other hand only had more boring third person cinematic games with no gameplay like Horizon Forbidden West, GT7 and God of War Ragnarok.
MS won Metacritic's Publisher of the year in 2021 and Halo Infinite was my GoTY. 2023 is going to be huge for MS with Starfield, Diablo, Call of Duty, Avowed, Fable and Hellblade 2 (the sequel to my favorite game of all time). Phil is actually not only the greatest thing to ever happen to Xbox but also the greatest mind in the games industry.

Sucks Respawn will never make another Titanfall game because of Apex's success. I dont like Apex, and the Map design totally looked like at some point in its development Titan stuff was going to be in it or added in some capacity but they changed gears.
Apex outperforms Warzone on PC a significant amount right now. It could catch up on console.
Respawn and Zampella are being leaned into for EAs shooters across the board. Just saying, maybe Sony should consider leaning into them as well for future Partnerships.
Nothing last forever and anything can be replaced with something new.
That started with the release of GOW 2018. I believe he had a whole rant about how they didn't get him to work on it. Ever since then he likes bashing PS.
