Its funny how things changed in the Xbox fanbase community.

Pathetic. Those deals longterm benefit microsoft and I'm sure the CMA saw through that as most of us have.

Let's see how happy they are when Microsoft decides to pull those games once the deal is over.
That's one of my favourite parts of this - the arrogance Microsoft would have had to have to think they could get away with offering deals that only benefit them and package it as a win for competition is insane and insulting.

Damn, when Square Enix is mocking you publicly, you done fucked up.

Well, at least he didn't tell them to go buy it on Xbox.

Promote this man.

Seems that MS was going to allow other cloud gaming platforms CoD during 10 years buuuuut if they give MS 100% of the game/DLC/IAP/passes revenue made there, instead of the 70%:

I assume this means that Sony could have CoD on PS and PS cloud gaming but giving Sony 0% of the game's revenue instead of 30%. It's understandable that Jimbo told them to fuck off.

Satya was already on the distancing train

Microsoft CEO: ‘We will be in gaming going forward’ even if Activision deal doesn’t happen

from: https://mspoweruser.com/microsoft-to-be-in-gaming-going-forward-even-without-activision/

Surely, the deal is dead.
'We will be in gaming'... for sure, you don't need to shut down the gaming division if an acquisition goes wrong, mr. Nutella. Or is someone at MS tired of losing money with gaming and asking to shut down Xbox?

“Basically, this is Microsoft and Brad Smith throwing their toys out of the pram after they didn’t get the decision they wanted after all the lobbying they did,” said Max von Thun, director of the Europe office of the Open Markets Institute, a proponent of stronger antitrust enforcement.
“They’re struggling to maintain that ‘good guy’ reputation,” von Thun said.

Disgusting. CMA is 100% correct.

Was coming here to post this. This is a bombshell and is likely the reason CMA laughed this out of the room. This is basically a poison pill that lets MS expand the reach of their game and get to keep all of the revenue. Those fake contracts were win-wins for Microsoft

Lmao we disscused this months ago on this forum. Its just poison to make every1 else dependant on their service while starving competition from 3p content. They d lead loss leader strategy untill no1 can compete thx to their monopoly money.
They said they ll continue with purchases after AB. Probably T2, s3ga, ubisof were plan.

Not anymore microshills.

Uh oh. Could this be the same thing they are offering the EC as cloud concessions?

This is giving the FTC a lot of material to use in court.
Also another great part of this. Microsoft's thrashing about and insistence on challenging this means the alleged illegality of the FTC's opposition is going to be tested in court and Microsoft will lose there as well, possibly enshrining new anti-trust precedent into law.

Holy shit - the entire Microsoft house of cards is crumbling between this and Brad Smith losing his marbles and threatening sovereign nations. They're fucked. There is no coming back, and all because they couldn't stand to see Sony beat them.

I’m enjoying how MS is throwing a temper tantrum and weaponizing its fanbase. They’re acting like Epic did. And they’ll take L after L.
Keep burning that good will and good guy façade you worked so hard to create, MS.
It’s so good to see a trillion dollar company getting the short end of the stick.

And Nvidia SIGNED that contract? What a bunch of dumbass clowns. Why are they even fighting for this? They get nothing.

Sony would never sign that shit contract, they have brains.

This stuff should be circulated everywhere, everyone needs to see and understand this....

If we had a good, strong gaming media that hadn't been corrupted and sold out, then they would have this on their front page with it all explained.

Now the burdon falls to us.

If anyone wants to make a new thread about the contract and post it all over twitter etc, I think that would be a good move.

I was just thinking the same thing. I wonder if this could spill over to the complaints google and amazon have about unfair cloud practices. Im sure google and other third parties are now hammering EC hard about cloud now that cma blocked it because of that. And as more information comes out they could probably add to it.
