This Muller guy is having the best meltdown in twitter history. He's now retweeting shit from a fake CMA Twitter account (he knows it's fake, he stated so). I've never seen anything like this before, it's delicious.
That dude is one of the most unhinged shills I've ever seen. I hope MS are paying him well for all of this, for his sake. lmao

Microsoft might be entering the stage of fucking around and finding out

Hey Microsoft asked the government to step in. And then proceeded to talk smack about UK in public. So now you have exactly what you ask for. Government support. Support for CMA to have more power.

I have feelings that Microsoft will sell the Xbox division and put there focus on Ai
Thats why the Xbox team are so desperate to get this deal done
No they won't sell the division. More likely they get rid of hardware and re-brand. Phil's already head of MS gaming not Xbox MS gaming. That's telling. They will definetly be keeping the division. They are already 20yrs in gaming. They won't step out when Amazon,Google ,appl are now in the market. They dont want another Windows phone situation where they missed out on mobile wave. They need an entertainment section. They will just maintain gamepass and push cloud subscription. They already conceeded consoles and consumer. Their standing won't change in the market. So the next move is effect the market. Their only goal now is to control distribution ribution of games "consolidation". Now they really want to be in gaming after seeing pandemic numbers. Their only move is to control distribution of games. And lock it behind paywall. But regulators exist. They are gonna have to actually make some good products.

Yeah, I doubt Xbox would simply disappear. They'd be leaving billions on the table, especially with no hardware to drag their profits down.

Going 3rd party would be best for them. Sell your games as any other 3rd party publisher and then have GP as an option on top of that.

When is China and EU decision on the deal?

Not that it really matters anyway. CMA blocked and FTC is trying to block it. MS ain’t leaving either market.

This guy wont give up

Man at first he seemed like an obvious shill but at least well-composed, then as things went on he started looking like the biggest clown but still at least tolerable for the antics.

Now, he just looks absolutely pathetic. Full on still stuck in Denial stage when even some of the most jaded Xbox console warriors have moved on to the Bargaining phase. Some are even depressed at this point, and a very small few have finally accepted the reality for what it is.

Where's Lulu telling him to get off Twitter and take a break? Maybe he'll listen if she's the one who tells him.

Why would anyone buy the Xbox division? Shut the whole Xbox division down and go third party with Bethesda staying completely independent from the other studios.

MS is just too greedy to accept that they'll have to pay 30% to Sony/Valve/Nintendo for Gamepass to be relevant.

I think @KiryuRealty has said in the past that MS actually did shop Xbox around near the end of 360 era, and Samsung were one of the prospective buyers. However, they backed out of buying the division.

So their best chance to sell Xbox was over a decade ago. With where the division is now (including all the debt), it wouldn't be an attractive asset for any company to purchase. But I still think if push comes to shove, Microsoft can salvage the hardware side of Xbox division, they would just need to change the business model into one that actually makes sense.

Refocus the hardware line into NUC-style mini PCs custom-built for gaming, and move the hardware team to under the Surface division. It would be such a net positive for Xbox as a brand, and I think they could come up with some really cool hardware designs that could innovate PC gaming, which are Microsoft's gaming roots anyway. Instead they're letting Valve get all the shine.
