Kadokawa is hardly into game, what I could see is FromSoftware themselves saying no. I would fucking hate if MS owned them.
I'm not convinced the risk for losing Fromsoft to them is super high. I also think Kadokawa is really proud of owning Fromsoft and they probably bring in alot of money and clout for them. Their only other game studio makes visual novels.

Them owning so few studios is what makes me think they would be willing to sell. I doubt MS can buy any big Japanese publisher because they simply wouldn't have what to do with them, but I could see someone like Phil Spencer thinking he could just buy From Software and people would flock to Xbox.

Hopefully Hidetaka Miyazaki has the good sense to not get involved with MS and ruin their streak of great games. Kojima chose to got in bed with MS to some degree, we'll see what comes out of that.

Kojima already mentioned that he rejected some buyout offers in an interview, one for an obscene amount of money. I'm also still skeptical that Fromsoft would sell to MS for cultural reasons or that Japan's regulators would be cool with it.

The "I was hoping Microsoft would 'clean up' Activision Blizzard" gambit.

"The most serious incidents in the lawsuit were the three alleged rapes and sexual assaults. They included a female Microsoft intern raped by a male Microsoft intern who reported the incident to her supervisor and HR. Despite this she had to continue to work alongside her alleged rapist."

The UK government has published a much-anticipated Bill which will make significant changes to the UK competition and consumer rules and bolster the powers of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). Revised merger control thresholds, stronger and faster enforcement of antitrust infringements, and heavier fines for non-compliance are all key features. As are radical reforms to give the consumer protection regime more teeth.

And some folks are bizarrely hoping the government somehow intevenes to help MS, they are planning to give the CMA more powers, good luck to anyone thinking of applying that type of pressure.

Many Xbox fans on Twitter are still expecting this deal to go through.
There's a very slim chance, but these dudes really set themselves up for disappointment.
Gluttons for punishment. They are addicted to the feeling of disappointment, that's when something is obviously not going their way they double down, because of the extra-strong hit of depression when their doubling down bites them in the ass.

Just realised that Sullivan over at Resetera requested a self ban. Most likely because of the CMA blocking the MS - ATVI merger.

Guy is the biggest hypocrite ever and talks so much smack about Sony and so pro acquisition.

Fucking loser knows the sony fans will gloat so he saw himself out with a ban request.

Pussy ass bitch. Dare to talk so much smack about Sony and talking down to the fans but goes into hiding the moment the merger gets blocked.
We talked about him a few days ago and it's true that I never saw his reaction. He was absent from the Acti thread. Did he say anything before going dark? I missed it.

He posts as Sulley on InstallBase.

The publication The Guardian destroys Microsoft....

Ignore Microsoft’s whines about the Activision takeover. The CMA did its job

"Microsoft can yank investment from the UK if it wishes, but another part of the global tech industry may be encouraged by the rare sight of a regulator being willing to step into the path of US Big Tech’s steamroller."

"Indeed, the more common complaint is that the regulator is too willing to accept an acquirer’s proposed remedies to competition concerns. Microsoft tried the remedy route with Activision but the CMA, unusually, wasn’t convinced. Tough.

And, whatever Smith thinks, the EU is not some regulatory paradise for big companies in which every big deal goes through on the nod. Deals sometimes get stopped by Brussels too."

"For Smith and Microsoft, it is apparently “the darkest day in our four decades in Britain”. The remark merely advertises Big Tech’s sense of entitlement. Go to appeal, or take the decision on the chin. Either way, get a sense of proportion."

It seems that xbots are keeping hope alive by believing that the deal will go through if EC approves it… but the deal contract required CMA approval.
The question that remains is: who is lying to these people?
