I think the part where Smith threatened an entire country because regulators had the audacity to do their jobs is ample proof that something needs to be done about MS. My hope is that other countries are watching and perhaps will come to the same conclusion that the UK government has - regulators need more authority due to just how bad big tech has become for anti-competitive and monopoly actions. The US, in particular, comes to mind for this.

If the CMA blocked the deal (and they did) Is all of this FTC proceeding just for show now? The CAT trial for the CMA isnt until AFTER the closing date and ABK doesnt have a revote for the deal on their docket, that we know of? So is all of this a performance that in the end doesnt matter?
From what some people have said this might be a last ditch effort for MS to try and convince ABK to extend if the FTC fails they're probably expecting to have the CMA ease up if they are the only one of the big three standing. Doubt this can even happen though like others in this thread have stated.
That forum has gone full Scale 10 Cap Mode for Microsoft. Genuinely unbelievable the lengths they go through to defend MS from any criticism surrounding this deal. Meanwhile, when the Jim Ryan email came out, they kept that thread running for weeks and kept pushing it to the top of the thread stack, and let any discourse (especially negative) fly.
Hell, when Lulu mentioned a supposed (never even verified) accounting by Jim Ryan saying he wanted to block the deal (which BTW was her violating the Gentlemen's Agreement), they let that narrative play out 100% of the way, despite no verification he ever actually said that statement.
I'm pretty much convinced either ResetERA's owners, or moderators and administrators themselves (Judge, Jawmuncher, Transistor etc.) are either being fed MS money or being provided MS access which basically translates to another form of monetary payment. There's no way you go to the lengths they do without some type of monetary compensation being involved.
It aught to be worth investigating, same with the rest of Microsoft's astroturfing efforts, which can ALSO be traced back to an internal email from many, many years ago (and we've had people here even link the email and internal memos/reports directly).
It's getting to a point where I genuinely don't care if Xbox ever improves as a brand, or ever restores my faith in them, because its parent company is 100% rotten in how they try to get what they really want.
