I am already missing the too-short period of radio silence we had from Phil not so long ago.
The fact that they couldn't provide evidence(they had that MS submission since june 19th maybe even earlier) on monday comes across as some coordinated effort between CMA and MS.
I find it crazy that both sets of lawyers genuinely thought the CAT judge would approve the adjournment without showing evidence or articulating the reason.
According to the CAT judge both CMA and MS wanted it approved just based on both opposition parties being in agreement on the adjournment. Excuse me WTF?
Perhaps it was just to buy them more time so they can present the evidence better? Or they genuinely thought the CAT would approve the adjournment without MS/CMA providing evidence. If the latter UH OH cause that evidence better be good.

The turnabout of the CMA was highly irregular, as can be seen by the reaction of the CAT judge. I hope there's some oversight on what exactly happened there. It needs to be looked into.

The Judge not falling for CMA just now wanting walk back on everything definitely caught them off guard. They did expect the CAT to be fine with both CMA and MS agreeing to pass the deal.
Thankfully this real actual Judge is having none of that. He needs a real reason and proof on why the CMA changed their stance after months of providing evidence of the harm to the industry MS buying Activision would cause. Even defending their decisions after the fact when clown Bradly said they don’t know what they’re doing and the U.K. is closed for business. He also said he needs proof of this new deal MS supposedly proposed.
They’re in trouble and they know it.

The problem is not MS acquiring ABK, is the lack of answer by Sony(there is still some time for it to happen, so we can't know for sure as of now). What we got in the last few years instead were MLB day one on Gamepass, all Bungie games being multiplataform, PC being one of their main focus.
Like it or not, PlayStation players lost access to all future Bethesda, Blizzard and non-CoD Activision games and Sony was hardly able to answer the other smaller acquisitions MS had already made before.
Another problem is there is no indication MS intends to stop, we actually have them stating the opposite.
Well don’t worry Sony will do at least one or two major acquisitions. I am fully convinced that Sony will buy a one Japanese pub and probably a heavy western RPG smithery (Larian Studios or CDPR).

It can’t be coincidence that he said this just after PI for FTC was denied. They made their resolve. Better late than never.
It'll be over after the CMA trial or FTC trial in August at the latest. There's nothing really stopping this now. The CMA turned over for them so even if they can't get the block adjourned there's no way they will put forth any evidence to stop it. Someone is obviously getting blackmailed. The FTC is a lost cause so thats not really even worth mentioning they showed obvious anticompetitive documents and judge still shrugged and said nope nothing wrong here.
Long term, MS is aiming for an overall negative effect on the PS business. If gamers start jumping ship to Xbox due to GP and PS losing so many IPs, they will start buying games on Xbox and the add-on revenue from DLC, microtransactions will also increase, while decreasing on PS.
MS also wants COD to be associated with Xbox for the millions of addicted casuals who spend a lot of money on COD.
Interesting how after this deal got rammed through the FTC and DOJ attempt to up their authority? Trying to tie Sony and others down?
