They were right to block it because of cloud gaming. Microsoft own the same servers as they host and sell the games on. That is a monopoly.

Do with this what you want, but people in ERA are saying that there was stock dumping activity on Activision this morning.
The best thing for ABK is to get their $3B and walk, what a disaster this was for everyone involved.
ABK burned all bridges with their biggest partner and tied themselves to a failing brand.
MS wasted two years on this, a bunch of money, looked like fools, made all their plans around it and made it harder for themselves to acquire anymore publishers going forward.
Sony continued their business as usual, made the correct call to fight this and are not looking at the best year in the history of their consoles. Now Sony has about as many studios as Xbox except theirs are much better and they'll be able to continue with their current acquisition strategy. They pretty much got the best outcome possible.
