Been a Nintendo fan since a kid. But I hope Palworld fuck them up, Nintendo’s arrogance needs a kick in the face. Stopping pirating games is one thing, the rest is stupid. You really arent that special…
It’s crazy how people love to say “arrogant Sony” but Nintendo’s history of arrogance is on another level. Especially if you look at what they did on the 80’s.

Nintendo and Miyamoto have a crazy arrogance. Especially for a company that was down and almost out twice

Exactly.

Arrogance right from the get-go with the NES console.

Guys why are we debating anything. Whoever wins its a win for us PS gamers, Nintendo will waste time and money on litigation, Pocketpair is a sham studio that makes ripoffs and is cozy with microsoft. Now if only epic gets serious with their fortnite and unreal money and takes steam to task to get the pc cucks malding

They definitely ripped Nintendo off blatantly, good for them on making a move.

They damn near used their entire namesake to sell Palworld, AI meme game. I’d imagine they weren’t happy about that.

Well they have the cache to be arrogant. They made mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majoras mask, twilight princess, SMG 1 and 2, BoTW, Metroid, Mario odyssey, DK...... the list goes on. Whatever you may say about their hardware they have earned the right to be arrogant with their software, So many timeless classics created

They were arrogant before that right when the NES was released.

Go take a look at the clauses third party publishers needed to abide by to release games on the NES.

If Nintendo wins this will limit the kinds of game mechanics that can be placed in games and would result in a game being made unavailable for purchase.
These are not wins. These are tragedies.
Oh no, their games are similar to other games. How is that a bad thing exactly? If someone makes a good game and someone else copies elements of that good game, they are helping to ensure the game they make will also be good.
Games are not replacements for each other. Dust: An Elysian Tail may be similar to Muramasa: The Demon Blade for example, but that doesn't make it not worth playing.
Palworld is a fine game. Not incredible, but certainly not bad either.

This is patent infringement not copyright infringement
The implication is that Nintendo has a problem with gameplay mechanics Palworld has

Oh hey what do you know Nintendo has a patent on capturing monsters without a fight by throwing a ball https://patents.justia.com/patent/20230191255

wtf, does this mean palworld has pokeball clones? sheesh, when pocketpair ceo said he wasnt into originality i thought he was smart enough to at least "copy but change it up a bit so it doesnt look obvious", blud cant even avoid the number one rule when creating a pokemon clone

In Palworld you find and/or craft Pal Spheres, which you can then throw at enemies to capture them at varying degrees of success based on damage done to the enemy, enemy level, and the type of Pal Sphere used. You chuck them Legends Arceus style in the overworld without entering a different battle space

i see, so it even got the health based success and types of spheres... its sad bc having the concept of colletable monster with guns they could have so original with it, like creating some sort of gun with a vacuum to catch them, maybe having pocket missiles and a funny animation to trap them into it, so many fun stuff if you brainstorm the two concepts

Pocket Pair should have sold itself to Microsoft for a ridiculous sum when they were doing crazy player numbers at launch.

Because anyone with eyes and a brain knew that it was only a matter of time till their money spigot ran out and Nintendo came with the lawsuits. Thinking that Palworld would go on indefinitely is foolish. I don't give two shits about Pocket Pair one way or another, but I'd wager that Nintendo is gonna take them to the cleaners now, and there's not much they'll be able to do about it.
