It's weird that the default assumption is that a lot of words = psychotic manifesto simply because we've become acclimated to prefer reading and writing single sentence hot Forums as a discussion and unless someone is referring to specific factual data they should need a an

I mean I a casual discussion ppl shouldn’t be writing epic monologues. Some ppl treat forums like they literally are in forum and they want to talk at ppl rather than with them. If someone needs half dozen paragraphs to communicate a point with a few supporting facts I don’t think they will reach many ppl even if they are right. It's weird that the default assumption is that a lot of words = psychotic manifesto simply because we've become acclimated to prefer reading and writing single sentence hot takes

Come on I think how we communicate has evolved a lil in the passed 2 thousand ++++ yrs since the Roman forums or the Greek agora’s. We use forums differently today just like we communicate differently.I mean...

We aren’t talking about a paragraph or two I’m talking about the essays ppl write and expect other ppl to read which 9 out ten are repeating the same garbage with no supporting evidence. You can have a proper conversation with someone if u both respond with essays.Yes evidently we have evolved to be frightened and distrustful of people who require the use of paragraph breaks

Yeah that’s my point duh. Ppl can write stuff like that but they shouldn’t be surprised if no one reads it. What is the issue here?Nobody is making you read anything you don't want to so I don't really see any issue here

Can you shorten your reply a bit, too much to read.I don't know I wasn't criticising anything, perhaps you can elaborate on the issue you were having. It sound like it's "people write long things I don't want to read", which as we've determined isn't really an issue worth complaining about but perhaps I misunderstood

Ok, mods, feel free to nuke this one if I am breaking any rules, but I just wanted to see what others are thinking.
Looking at NeoGAF since the FTC filed the suit to block the Microsoft/Activision merger has been really weird. The sticky thread about platform warring is gone, and threads about the merger are out of control fanboy battles, with seemingly a ton of green shills posting insane shit that should be landing warnings, if not bans.
Yet, the mods seem to have disappeared. Only one ban was handed out from the flame wars, and to a user who posted one of the less extreme posts I have seen about it.
GAF has always been a sewer, Malka is a massive douche, but it is like the moderation team is on strike, or collecting paycheques from Redmond over there.
Or am I mistaken?
It honestly seems like Tyler saw ad impressions shoot up due to the insanity being posted by the Xbox shills and has decided to let it roll to try to make a buck. That's why this place was made, many thought that moderation was way off on Gaf.
How on earth has Senjutsu Sage been on there for so long? The guy is pure toxic along with many others.
I was banned in several consecutively questionable circumstances... one where I was verbally attacked and cursed out by another member and when I reported him, I was ignored and then decided to give as good as I got. Then one ban was for saying Jim Ryan and Sony almost seemed like they sold out and that the meeting between Sony Ceo and MSFT Ceo was super suspicious....
It's all bizarre and the only thing that makes sense is that money is at play behind the scenes.
If you were not active on Gaf, where have you exactly come from, I am genuinely curious as in one of your posts you made the other day, you mentioned @VFX_Veteran in a statement, indicating you kinda knew him or knew of him.It honestly seems like Tyler saw ad impressions shoot up due to the insanity being posted by the Xbox shills and has decided to let it roll to try to make a buck.
The moderation started out pretty good in 2018 when the site was trying to rise from the ashes of the Reeeebellion, but it felt like, once things were rolling along, Malka decided he didn't like the new user base and wants it to be the same cliquish, echo-chamber of approved mono thought that it was before the woke meltdowns and GamerGate hit.
Though, they ALWAYS have had an issue with not handling platform warring from PC gamers the same as they handled console warriors, due mainly to Malka being a PC gamer himself. There is a very toxic core to the PC contingent on that forum that they have NEVER done anything to clean up, and now the Xbox shills are being allowed to be just as toxic.
Honestly, if my account wasn't unapproved still, after 8 years now, I would probably be banned from there within a week or so. I'd rather be here than there, glad I found this place. I guess a mod missed scrubbing this forum's name from the post I found it in.
Yes, they edit other forums' names out of posts, but they don't clean up the cesspool of guerrilla marketing that has festered there for years.
