They said it was impossible without making severe compromises.
We have yet to see what those compromises are.

Plus, this isn't exactly a technology that was available on last-gen hardware, fellas. It really couldn't have been done on those.

of course, but Jim and Hermen will still pretend like 50k sales at $60 is a huge success while 3m sales at $70 is a failure
Truly pathetic. It suggests that Sony thinks that a game being exclusive isn't worth one or two million dollars (you need to factor that Valve gets %30, that they need to spend resources porting and promoting the game).

Makes you wonder how much they actually paid for FF exclusivity and if that was something Jim Ryan had any say into.

Profit is profit. It doesn't need to be a megahit so long as the ROI is enough to justify the time and resources. And so far, it has been.

And it HAS also gotten people to buy PS5s. Spider-Man 2 alone has PC gamers buying one to play it, as did Ragnarok and Forbidden West.

Like it or not, the PC Initiative IS having its intended effects.

Some interesting context:

I'm not so sure. I can't wrap my head around the fact that this game has far from complex game assets. It's not like we are looking at the Matrix demo or the UE5.0 tech demo 3yrs ago. The game has very simple geometry and assets. Can't wait for the DF tech review.

They got this thing running like a PS3 game in order to make it work on HDDs and they're STILL like "look, just... just get an SSD. Please." lmao

I doubt that

They went out of their way to support ancient PC hardware but left the PS4 in the dust.

This new Sony is beyond pathetic.
Well, I'm glad they ditched the PS4 but pouring a ton of effort into supporting the Steam Deck that is about the same power as the PS4 and only has 2m~ sales doesn't make much sense. But nothing Sony does these days makes sense

Supporting the Steam Deck doesn't take that much effort.

You can tell some ppl have an agenda and dont know or understand certain things. Reminds me of how every once in awhile an oblivious person will say "Where's Sony's Kraken Compression" that was all lies lol smh.

Those minimum PC specs are better than a PS4 specially on the CPU front.

BTW this goes to show how the """superb""" God of war PC port (according to DF) was actually trash as it will take pretty much those specs to run a PS4 game.
