There's zero Western marketing for the game being on PlayStation. So ironically, Atlus are kneecapping the IP's growth on a platform it has a bigger potential to grow on, by not mentioning it in any of the Western advertising.

Unless you're already a Persona fan on PlayStation, you'd be mistaken for thinking Reload is an Xbox console exclusive given how the marketing's been portraying it outside of Japan. That's rather shortsighted on SEGA & Atlus's part; they could mention the other platforms in their own ads even if the ones for Microsoft only focus on Microsoft platforms.
Some of this might be true but what does it have to do with him, as a gamer? Nothing. He's upset about nothing.

It seems it's more an Xbox moneyhatting trick then a Sega move. They definitely forced them to omit the Playstation outside Japan. Ironic that they do it and there's no problem but Playstation gets blamed no matter what they do.

Some of this might be true but what does it have to do with him, as a gamer? Nothing. He's upset about nothing.

He has a platform preference just like everyone does, and he's probably purchased the other games on PS consoles. It's even possible they got into the IP because of marketing that actually mentioned PlayStation, otherwise the IP could've remained obscure and unknown to them.

So even as a gamer, they might feel entitled a certain way. In any case, Atlus assuming that what audience they've built up on PlayStation will just "know" the game is coming to the platform but otherwise getting seemingly ignored in the West, and the game being a Day 1 Game Pass drop no less, is going to make some of them feel a certain way especially when this has also happened with other SEGA & Atlus titles this generation.

Their opinion is at least just as valid as yours.

I kinda refuse to believe this. SEGA & Atlus can afford lawyers who read the fine print and parse the contracts. They aren't signing anything they don't otherwise agree to.

It's just like the myth that Sony "tricked" Nintendo into a bad deal for the Play Station. BS. Nintendo had great lawyers even back then, they knew the terms they agreed to in the original contracts. They simply didn't care about CD at the time or felt it was a threat, then 180'd when they started to sweat that CD could take over the cartridge market realizing they didn't include CD royalties in their contract with Sony (b/c they didn't care at the time).

Complete and utter misfire by SEGA and Atlus on this one. You'd think of ALL the platforms where Reload would do well, Switch would be top priority. Between no Switch version, and no Western marketing for PlayStation, this game is destined to very poor sales results on the charts.

Unfortunate in a sense but they chose their bed and laid in it. These are the consequences :/

Again he literally loses nothing. the game is still coming to playstation. Being upset about a marketing deal is silly.

He can being upset whenever he wants. You don't have rights to tell Playstation fans here what to do, know your own place please, xbotz 😜 🤣 .
He's mad because persona is no longer exlcusive to Sony? Persona was never owned by PlayStation. So it shouldn't matter. Now more people can play the game which is good.

He's mad because of this reason:

"Persona 3: Reload is now available to pre-load on Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, and the game’s download size has been revealed. Meanwhile, those who pre-ordered the game on PS4, PS5, and PC will have to wait a bit longer."

So please read the goddamn thread before posting you botz 🤣🤣🤣.

Also,
more people can play the game which is good

more people as in the pc and xbox crowd. Also waiting a little bit longer to pre load a game is a nothing burger.

I’m gonna end up getting this day one.

I don’t know what to expect. I hope it’s different enough from P5 with both visual and gameplay upgrades.

The visuals look great! Better looking that P5. Arguably better looking than the upcoming Metaphor too.

If the soundtrack is as good as P5 … I’ll be happy
The dungeon is way worse, it’s like P5’s mementos

They take the deal with Gamepass/Xbox because they want to grow the franchise. They seem to believe that using gamepass will eventually increase their sales, and I say this because Sega has stated this with Yakuza.

We don’t know how successful that will be yet, we have to wait to see how Infinite wealth does on Xbox without gamepass. Sega seems to believe they have created a fanbase that will buy the game, but I’m here thinking all they have done is train Xbox GP users to not buy Yakuza.

New marketing ad for this game is terrible. Sega is enjoying Microsoft's marketing money while the game flops on their system. I'll wait to pick it up during a $3 Black Friday sale.

I think it's ironic that he's just understanding this now after months of only Xbox marketing propaganda for it.
