The problem is the industry was always healthy until it was hijacked by boardroom suits and shareholders that wanted an industry with an obvious hardware sell through ceiling to have somehow start having endless growth year on year. If they are able to pull off PC games running on Xbox similar to how Steam Deck does it, and get decent performance from the games, that would be kind of hilarious to see all those Sony games playable on Xbox hardware.

It'd also be funny to see Sony being okay with their games running on PC through Steam, and then okay with the same games running on Steam Deck, but then draw the line when the same Steam games can run on Xbox hardware. If MS wants to destroy PlayStation, that's how they do it.

We can talk about growth in a variety of manners, but the truth of this whole situation boils down to this: the Xbox platform has not been growing, and hasn't been for longer than Phil cares to admit to.
