Reading the Jez article puts things into perspective for me, he's way to passionate about the success of MS. He's still upset about the death of windows phone, a smartphone OS that was discontinued almost 8 years ago. I guarantee he would never buy an iPhone. Why? Because he feels as if Apple is the boogieman that isn't allowing MS to win, he's loyal to a fault to their brand. I guarantee he shares the same sentiment with Sony, He thinks PlayStation exists to make Xbox lesser. Unfortunately for him, MS cannot strong arm their "warchest" and buy victory. Consumers decide who is victorious. With phones, consumers chose Apple/Alphabet, with consoles, consumers chose Sony/Nintendo. He's so blinded by fanboyism, that he cannot even understand the simple concept that these businesses aren't here to be friendly, or to “win” against the competition. They want profits, I mean, in the article he states
Truth is, they never did this because this is how a great business succeeds, they do this because they are simply weaker than their competitors, and they are desperate to find growth. I knew this guy was sorta slow when I heard him speak in a podcast. But not THIS slow.
