I will say their 2022 SoP were great, the dedicated ones to GT7 & Hogwarts were great deep dives. Also the September where they announced Tekken 8, Ronin, Stellar Blade, GoW date was a neat 20minute one. If the live-service are all hits in retrospect the 2023 showcase would be considered a good one. The 2024 January SoP could go for a good showcase.
The issue is it's all spread out, they have to do one early in the year after Xbox/Nintendo directs, before SGF and appear in some way at SGF as the closer. Then a SoP/showcase before TGS and have a meaningful presence at the Game Awards.
Benefit is that they can market closer to launch and give strategically more attention to titles instead of being drowned out but it comes at the expense of great showcases. And people need to remember, 2016 basically was a repeat every E3 after. You only get one shot to do something like that and your titles need to be ready.
