So Metacritic have it at 56 and XboxEra has it at 85.

Man, someone really needs to look into the situation around those Redfall previews. Either Xbox/Bethesda/Arkane presented these people with a much more polished demo, or there was some SERIOUS under-the-table deal action going down here.

I mean they could say what they saw while it was not in a good state they could see the potential for great or even GOTY game.
The ideia behind RedFall is not bad at all but the implementation is basically the worst possible.
Why should they be?
They're what they choose to be. If DF wants to do positive coverage + selective omission of any negatives in return for privileged access it's their right. PS gamers bit the bait a long time ago and staked too much into DF's cred as an authoritative figure... so much so that now they battle with the fact that DF is a biased, easily bought and bribed outfit yet the alternatives to their work are not as big nor relevant to supplant them - moreover even with alternatives a shift does not happen overnight - and it's more of an attrition battle for viewership and authoritative relevance. PS gamers have to battle with the fact that the other side is not willing to endorse with equal enthusiasm (for their own self-interest & reasons obv) any other alternative, say NxGamer - thus helping maintain DF's spot in this niche for as long as possible since they provide beneficial and biased positive coverage to their brand/platform of choice. All hardcore Xbox/PC fans know and understand this well. NxGamer is an alternative but we know the Xbox/PC camp won't be so idiotic as to make the same mistake PS fans made by legitimizing DF and establishing them as the authoritative go-to for face-offs. The results literally spell it out. The solution will continue to be simple: Stop talking about DF. If you do talk about them, point out their BS, and blatant bias and suggest an alternative. Don't legitimize them further, promote their competition. Once DF is irrelevant nobody cares. Problem is of course... idiots are dime a dozen and gamers hardly behave like a unified lot, much less process information, strategize etc in unison - there is no one leader, thus there is no single direction. Easy to divide and conquer by playing at the margins - as DF personal often does.
