This an old rumor way back. Guess it's coming to fruition. Shame people trying to spoil it.People will get mad as usual if it's exclusive but Konami wasn't doing anything with these IPs. They wouldn't exist without Sony.
The recent media blitz/rumor mill may be trying to paint Playstation as this unstoppable deal-making monster in the industry that regulators have a duty to help Microsoft defeat, lol. It won't work based on the cloud concerns being the main focus, but they might be trying to paint the deal as doing more good than harm.Never mind; there are DEFINITELY some salty people in the MGS/Silent Hill/Castlevania thread on Reset using all the same usual flawed talking points, but that thread's also much bigger than the Dead Rising one.
And it's kind of hard to find the same poster posting in both threads to see if they're showing a double-standard (though I'm sure that's happened at least a couple of times by now).
Konami probably won't sell just their ips, you'd have to buy the whole publisher, which is an unattractive prospect right now given that they barely have studios anymore and non gaming businesses bundled with it.I don't get why sony just doesn't buy these ip up already
Konami would never sell it's a gold mine, but annoyingly they have been way to slow to do anything with them.I don't get why sony just doesn't buy these ip up already
To be fair, he wasn't saying that as a rumor. He just saw that Xbox wasn't in the announcement and threw a fit, assuming Sony had a deal. It'd be great news if true, but Jizz Corden being the rumour monger doesn't give it any credibility. This is the guy who heard PlayStation signed an exclusivity deal with Larian for BG3 before Larian themselves came out to correct him.
The xbots will and do care. They are already making comparisons between MS buying ABK and Sony doing deals with Konami.Nobody will care. MS could simply outbid it.

Yup, if true this pretty much ought to do it.Final Deathblow to Xbox
This is a key difference with a lot of the third party exclusives Sony seems to nab. A stark contrast from every acquisition MS has been doing in recent years. EVERY game they count as "exclusive" now was just a third party title. Psychonauts, Bethesda stuff, the attempt at ABK etc ... pathetic.People will get mad as usual if it's exclusive but Konami wasn't doing anything with these IPs. They wouldn't exist without Sony.
Sony would have to lock down GTA 6 for awhile to deal a death blow to Xbox at this stage, let's be real. And that's not gonna happen.Yup, if true this pretty much ought to do it.
Problem is GTA6 will still sell gazillion on xbox. Buying Bethesda would've been cheaper than a GTA deal.Sony would have to lock down GTA 6 for awhile to deal a death blow to Xbox at this stage, let's be real. And that's not gonna happen.
Imagine the plot twist if Dead Rising reboot is Xbox exclusive and Castlevania/MGS is multiplatform. All their outrage will evaporate so fast the thread won't reach 5 pages (Konami is already at 13)Never mind; there are DEFINITELY some salty people in the MGS/Silent Hill/Castlevania thread on Reset using all the same usual flawed talking points, but that thread's also much bigger than the Dead Rising one.

I get that. I was more implying to the comment. Only a game like GTA 6 could deal a death blow to the Xbox brand currently. These games will make small dents but that's it.Problem is GTA6 will still sell gazillion on xbox. Buying Bethesda would've been cheaper than a GTA deal.
