Lol, this just sounds like you're really hoping their next show is underwhelming. Shinobi tends to be pretty accurate with his sources and he's not the only lraker saying this.
No, I only prefer to be realistic and to don't believe fake insiders who set the expectations too unrealisticly high and then many people who believed them get dissapointed.
It's already been reported that Sony plan to do a huge blowout for 'Phase 2' of their first party games and many studios like Sucker Punch, Bluepoint, Sony Bend, Asobi, and many of the third party partnerships they announced have gone a while without news.
No, Sony didn't say anything like that. Some random 'insider' said that. Sony didn't even say that there is a State of Play coming for this or next month.
But since almost every summer they have a big State of Play/showcase/conference, pretty likely they'll have one now. Specially because most of their big exclusives that they mostly marketed until now are already out now once Final Fantasy XVI and SF6 will be out, and now there are consoles in the stores and the PSVR2 launch window marketing will already also have completed, so their marketing will be ready to move to the next steps and .
But many times these 'insiders' hyped several things like PlayStation Showcases or State of Plays that never existed, or even made up a 'Sony is acquiring Square Enix' story.
So I'll believe it once I see the event. Regarding these studios, Sucker Punch released a couple years ago their Directors Cut/PS5 upgrade/expanded version so pretty likely it's too early to show their next game. Bluepoint codeveloped GoWR, which was released half a year ago so pretty likely will need some years to show their next game. Bend also started to work on their new IP around a couple years ago so it's too early for them. Asobi released their last game two years and a half ago and are supposed to be making a game bigger than the Astros, so may need more time to show it too. I woudn't expect to see these games this summer.
If something, it would be realistic to see gameplay debuts of (not all of them, they may save some for future events like TGS) Spider-Man 2, TLOU Online, Wolverine or Death Stranding 2, and we could see getting announced (again, I think they may only announce a handful of them) Firewalk's game, Helldivers 2.
And I think it's unlikely to see them this summer, but still somewhat possible, one of Bungie's new IP under development, Pixelopus' next game, Sony London Studio's next game or Cory's game/possibly new IP. Even if I think it's more realistic to expect to see them next year.
Of course the event would have some nice indies, some big AAA exclusive like FFVII Rebirth and some AAA multiplatfrom that could get marketing deal with Sony like AC Mirage or Mortal Kombat 12.
