The yahoo article sources this link which also doesn't mention exactly which document or response it's from, but based on the time of posting I guess it's from the last response to CMA that came out a few days back.

What does this even mean? There is no context and no data. We know the numbers for Game Pass aren't good and that PS+ isn't even really a competitor in a true sense AND it has more users anyway. So what did he mean? Where was this published? This is a total non entity of a news story and you're trying to spread innuendos and falsehoods.

Nobody is demanding that besides Xbox fans who wants to see Sony go down. Game Pass is missing all their targets and they stopped revealing numbers. Game sales are down across the board on Xbox and they have to rely on Steam to sell some software.
Meanwhile GOW sold 10 millions copies in 1 month at full price and PS5 consoles are selling like hotcakes. The market has decided all right.
I understand why Sony might have said that in the CMA papers but the truth is the PS+ library trumps Game Pass for almost half the price. Customers are comparing both services and the overwhelming majority is choosing Playstation.

Exactly. They own xcloud, leading cloud service, they own distribution, they have GP with most subs for that type of service. Now they want to buy biggest 3p publisher on planet after buying one of the biggest? Where this ends?

Jim Ryan even shrugged it off during a metting supposedly saying they sold way more consoles than gamepass numbers and PS plus has twice the subcriber base.
But i digress........None of that really matters in reality and what Sony said is correct. MS should not be able to buy Activision then since that would put gamepass even further ahead if all Activision games were put on gamepass.

There is no data that leads to think it's a cloud service. We only had data about their global GP subs. Never got the numbers of their GPU subs, and even less the amount of GPU subs who use xcloud.
The game subs from Sony and Nintendo have more subscribers and with a big distance. The Sony one aproximately doubles GP. And since the Sony one doesn't almost include day one games other than an indie every several months or years, the cost of the Sony sub is way lower, so it's way more profitable.
MS is not the market leader. Out of the three console makers they are in the last position selling consoles, selling games for their consoles, selling first party games and selling game subs. And we don't have the numbers, but they must be the least profitable ones (as I remember MS said that since they started Xbox they only had a single profitable year or something like that).

To be fair, why would Microsoft put so much effort into this deal if they did not think that it would significantly change their position in the market?
It does not mean that they are right or wrong, but they definitely want ABK so they can get clout.
