They would have to be permanent exclusive whether there PS PC port (if they continue) or these multilayer game. If they treat the PS PC storefront like Epic w time exclusive Steam users will wait, they already wait & if PS goes day n date across PS console & PS PC launcher & there games on PC aren’t permanent exclusive Steam user will wait & now PS would have kill there console & pc storefront business. Ultimately Valve/Steam wins.
Going to try and parse your writing as dog shit as it is, I'm assuming English is not your first language, so I'll try to not belabor that, but my advice to use is run this through a word processor or AI to clean it up.
You would also think if they did have a PS PC launcher on the way they would stop doing pc ports that release on Steam & Dave those games till PS can build a library of multiplayer games on the PS PC launcher which are more potent in making PC gamers bend the knee to a PS PC launcher especially if PS multiplayer games are free to play like Riot, Hoyoverse or Valve. Should start w the Horizon Monster Hunter being a Free to play monster hunter & since the quality will likely be there & it’s a established ip there won’t be much pushback if PS made it exclusive to the PS pc launcher, having a bigger focus on PS w there multilayer & using the PS PC launcher as a long term growth on PC while having full control & 100% of the profit.
Sony needs cash flow, which many on this site don't quite understand. What their exclusivity strategy will be on PC is yet to be determined, they could delist from Steam or simply stop publishing new games there, or they might stop publishing certain types of games like GaaS games. It'll be interesting to see how they approach it.
There is clear evidence that they're moving forward with a launcher/storefront though. They wouldn't have bothered with the PS overlay if they weren't looking to move forward with a storefront. We're likely looking at something years in the making.
Any game could be the first game to be the first exclusive on the PS Store or both could co-exist for a period. I could totally see the Horizon online game or mmorpg launching exclusively on a PS Store, especially if it is f2p.
Agree. I think overtime as Ps releases more multiplayer games PS+ should transition into exclusive cosmetic for multiplayer focus subscription where the overheads & additions are cheap. Similar to what you already see w games like Fortnite & Rainbow 6 that have subscription PS+ could be the defacto exclusive cosmetic for all PS multiplayer across PS console, PC & Mobile. Maybe even have something similar to Ubisoft or Valve where these exclusive cosmetic on PS+ act as consumables & can be bought, sold or traded giving value to the exclusive cosmetic & building a ecosystem where when sold on a specific PS marketplace website PS/Sony takes 15%-30% cuts for each sold. Buy one of those CSGO market place & tie it to PS & EVO as marketplace hub to gamble, buy, sell & trade exclusive cosmetic that can be gotten on PS+ maybe tie loot boxes to PS+ making it more exciting. Idk I’m just spitting ideas but people do love cosmetics for multilayer games.
Due to global regulation, I think Sony will avoid loot boxes. I think the expansion of PS+ coming to PC. Including free games on PC monthly, as well as cloud streaming.
I could still envision eventually some sort of bundle with Crunchyroll.
I don’t see Nintendo ever releasing on PC. If you see Mario 64 in modern times it won’t be for a PC port I just see Nintendo making these remake/remaster collection of old titles like capcom done w street fighter & using those classics to sell Nintendo console & just selling the game itself as a exclusive on Nintendo hardware.
Nintendo vision for expanding to a new audience is completely different then PS. In the eyes of Herman & Totoki releasing Lego Horizon on Switch is seen as a way to expand the audience & maybe bring more profit at the cost of diminishment of its own platform.
We'll see, especially with how well Switch 2 does. People like to ignore the fact that Pokemon Go was a mobile exclusive that never landed on the Switch.
Nintendo vision of expanding its ip is cross media, toys/merchcandise, parks etc. Just look at the new Donkey Kong park this imo is proper expansion of ip truly trying to reach a new audience using new forms of entertainment, in this case it’s real life experience of the ip. Family & younger kids can experience Donkey Kong in real life w parks & fall in love w the characters & universe & as they invest & grow up eventually goes to the games. Everything Nintendo does funnels back to Nintendo consoles & Nintendo getting 100% & full controls. Just look at what they did w there music something so obsolete to even control & could’ve just had them available on Spotify or Apple they still hold control of & monetize it while also adding value to its platform.
The only time you would see a Nintendo game on PC is from there mobile games being playable on iOS or android that have small gateways of it being playable through a PC like due to the nature of iOS or android. I believe Nintendo Pokémon unite which is made by Timi themselves have a Timi app/storefront that allows you to play Pokemon Unite official through them. If Nintendo is ever on PC it will be exclusively under a Nintendo storefront & ONLY for there mobile games because of Nintendo publish a mobile game on android it can also be played through Google play store on PC from my knowledge so I can see Nintendo shut that down especially if android allows new mobile storefront you will see this happen to android first & then maybe apple iOS government open that up. Oh you want to play Nintendo mobile games on apple or android? Well download the Nintendo mobile storefront (could also be for PC) & your only playing our mobile games under our mobile storefront & not under apple or google own storefront.
That's just a massive assumption.
Can you explain why they would support mobile but not specifically PC?
It just seems like many here have a hang up on PC because they assume PC gaming is going to take over console gaming. They see PC gaming as a threat and not mobile gaming.
