???? SIE literally create new IPs from scratch, the licensed IPs they make today are Spiderman/Wolverine and MLB, but this has nothing to do with Sony Pictures, not sure what point you want to make here

Your argument is historically they haven’t used Sony pictures IP.

First they didn’t have much synergy in the last. Second they largely avoided licensed games in the past.

You now have larger teams.

A digital storefront and an apparatus to sell games in larger numbers.

i don't have faith in it, not even Crunchyroll is part of PS +

Not yet. And i believe they will roll that out in certain regions not US. Sony is not a dumb company when it comes to spending money. Top gun is a billion dollar movie franchise, Transformer is a a multi billion dollar franchise. nickeldeon has Turtles, spongebob ect.

Think of the money they will make from IP's they can use for film and video games? Imagine the new Ninja turtles movie being last ronin story line, and then having a video game? They will make a ton of money from having one excite people about the other. Similar to whats happening to fallout. ANd what will happen with Horizon/God of war series.

ok, but it's facts, they still don't use Sony Pictures IPs to make games, they prefer to create new IPs, that's what most of their studios are doing right now, with how long games take to make, we can safely say they won't use Sony Pictures IPs to make games this decade

This is enough to buy WB a better purchase.

Also they could’ve bought Capcom & Square Enix to have a real chance in competing against Nintendo.

This is enough money to buy Kadokawa/Fromsoft & Square Enix & Hoyoverse which converse Sony in multiple markets

This is enough for PS to actually have an output that can compete w Nintendo. 2022 2 major game, 2023 1 major game, 2024 0 major game from PS studio first party to compare Nintendo in 2023 had like 7-10 releases. SMH enough to make important studios like Suckerpunch, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica & Team Asobi multi team studios to have higher output & or bring back old ip like inFAMOUS, SOCOM, Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter etc

yeah, but this will take a lot of time, years, possibly even a decade to put in perspective, people were expecting something now, this gen, in my eyes SE would be perfect cause they already work as a PlayStation Studio in many aspects, they develop their biggest games only on the playstation hardware and then they port it to PC after a year or so, they have IPs that are iconic and have a big presence in Japan, so in the long term future, Sony will be armed with some of Japan's biggest IPs, we also have PS Plus, they need to get more content on the service if they want their Cloud/Subscription to compete with Netflix Games and GamePass in the future

This is the weirdest take ever. You think Sony doesn't care about their number 1 cash cow? Lol. You'd make for a great business owner.

Mind you, Sony is about to become the only viable AAA gaming console. Their need to acquire shrinks more and more with every Microsoft quarterly report.

It's crazy how so many peoples' brain implode when Sony invests in other parts of their business outside of gaming.
Yes, actually.

yeah, paying the price of a Take Two in Paramount... seems like an overpriced acquisition
Sony won’t even get major ip like Transformer & GIJoe after acquiring paramount they will need to buy Hasbro to own the franchise & get games mixed w cross media synergies.

Sony will only get TMNT & SpongeBob other like Sonic, Transformer Paramount don’t even own or control.

Sony is better buying WB who’s also rumored to be selling soon. Buying WB will actually get you major ip WB owns plus a better subscription that’s making profit. Paramount+ is like the bottom of the barrel streaming service. Owning the Halo streaming rights also is worthless that tv show has been destroyed in gaming & now cross media

26 Billion cash they couldve bought SE, Capcom, FRoms parent company and still had money left over. Theyd better pray MS is done with all the publisher acquisitions.
Square + Capcom + FromSoftware would not even cost 20B, with the 6B left they could buy 20 or more smaller studios like Arrowhead, Ballistic Moon, ShiftUp and etc

Honestly didn't know sony had that much cash....
they can make bigger acquisitions than that, when this man said Sony would not get left behind in the acquisition war from entertainment he was not kidding, but we were expecting game publisher acquisitions due to the recent years
