Applying the same Ubi open world formula to the T for all their games, leaving IPs like Splinter Cell and others lay dormant and chasing the GAAS money that has resulted in redo after redo after redo are some of the pitfalls that Ubi Soft have done to themselves.

The Sony factual numbers say this is bullshit. Every year they grew a lot in PC, the last fiscal year made around $7000M outside PS, they continue growing and in 5 years of PC push they became a top 10 publisher in Steam history.
I literally said besides Helldivers and Destiny and you bring up the Destiny/Helldivers numbers. Outside of that, the ports are 30 millions total. Don't quote me if you can't read 🤡

Let Tencent have Ubisoft and clean the illness which has nested inside Ubisoft. Maybe then the Gaming-industry will start to recover. Don't forget that Ubisoft had historically much influence on the western Gaming-industry. If Ubisoft recovers, the Western Gaming-industry does too.
Tbh i never fancy tencent but if it mean it can put a stop to these DEI consultancy/ uglification of ubisoft videogame character im in

Remember that sweet baby came from ubisoft

Sony sleeping on this. Otherwise I’m okay with tencent throwing in. Better than Microsoft.

Rainbow Six and Assasin’s Creed alone is worth it even if they scrapped literally everything else.

Even for their expanded media desires… both those ips could be leveraged for film and television.

And I’d be okay if Sony reboot all of it in their image to an extent. Depends if Sony is reading the market well and done with wokeshit. I’m sure when they compare Helldivers to Concord they come away with the obvious.

Tencent could really clean this mess. Sony is going to the same direction right now so I just can't say Sony should've bought them because it might just destroy the company even more.

Sony should, and refine/merge Sony and Ubisoft's approaches to open world's, and give us one (two rare occasion full sequel) POP, Splinter Cell, Far Cry, SOCOM, Ass Creed, Rainbow 6, MAG, Killzone, Horizon, TLOU, UC, GOT, SpiderMan game a generation, flushed with GAAS/MP verses suite, and pepper-in smaller style single player/MP DLC stories.

Ubisoft is a wonderful catch for any. But with Sony's DEI approach, I doubt they'll do much better. Tencent will cleanse it.

Sony largely can't afford publishers.

Remasters and remakes are cash positive as are PC ports.

Square Enix's stock has collapsed since 2021, losing nearly half its value.

Difficult to get a good estimate for Capcom since the yen has collapsed in the last few years, but their stock price isn't greatly different today than it was then, but buying Capcom would have cost anywhere in the realm of 15 billion dollars with premium.

I think Sony should buy Kadokawa, but Capcom and Square Enix probably aren't worth it.

I feel like you just say things without thinking of feasibility. Mihoyo is worth over 20 billion dollars...

I've suggested they should buy Level 5. Not sure Arc system works is even a small needle mover.

The people most principally responsible for R6S are gone due to an harassment scandal.

Why buy Tom Clancy and revive SOCOM at the same time? That doesn't track. It's one or the other. And there is no guarantee of duplicating the success of R6S at this point.
Maybe the remaster and ports are short term cash positive but look at PlayStation 5 sales... They are diminishing very badly and it's not because of the stage in the console cycle or any other excuse.

They had a choice... Make some short-term profits at the expense of the future of their platform and marginalize their fan base or continue as they had in the mid PS4 cycle with respectable profits and a growing platform that would eventually grow very sustainable in profits while maintaining install base growth.

Diminishing very badly?

That's just not true.

They forecasted 18 million units this year and I'm pretty sure they'll get it or come close to it.

These short term profits don't come at the expense of anything.

Games take longer to develop now than they did on the PS4. You have to bring in more people to build games. You have to onboard these people. There is a massive disconnect with gamers and real life.

I don't care who owns them as long as they're making good games with no agendas.

The more one company owns, the more power. Which is never good. Especially when they havent really been involved in making those games great. MS owning a bunch of IPs they didnt earn, while they could barely handle there own was never good.

I dont know how good Tencent is, but either way Id rather now they dont own more than they do. Companies arent gonna show their true cards till they have more power. We see what MS is like even without being top lol.

Its not like Tencent or Chinese companies dont censor things they dont agree with.

Of course it'll take so much time and money if you need to pay millions for SBI and other garbage.

Time will tell. Better them than going bankrupt. As long it's not MS, I'm ok with it.

You have a real problem. You don't realize you're just as bad as the people who constantly talk about this stuff. The rest of us gamers are just out there enjoying games.

Let it go.

I'm not sure that'll be true. I'm not sure I want to see a Chinese sponsored gaming console and everything that goes along with that. Ubisoft would definitely give Tencent the IP it needs to create their own console.

More than sure a Chinese sponsored gaming console would be much better than an American one. And yes let them make their own console if they want to.

Its not like Tencent or Chinese companies dont censor things they dont agree with.
Tencent owns Riot, Funcom, Digital Extremes, Splash Damage, Sumo Digital, Turtle Rock, Techland, Tequila Works, Klei, Yager, Fatshark, Miniclip, Supercell. Plus has minority stakes on Don't Nod, Epic, Bloober Team, Marvelous, Shift Up, FromSoft, Remedy, Krafton, Ubisoft, Kadokawa, Paradox, Roblox, Platinum Games or Bohemia Interactive. Netease owns Quantic Dream.

Do you see anything wrong in the content of the games of these companies? Do they have anything censored? I know people in top positions of a few of these (and other invested by them) studios and never were told to do anything or censor anything about the content. They act like normal investors, who put money on something that works and they like and let them continue doing what made them successful.

There are Chinese PC/Android consoles like Aya Neo or Ambernic, do you see anything wrong in them?
