They didn't, that's the point. No one would have complained if they would've done it.

Ok, so let's close any internet forum as any discussion is futile.

It's also funny of you accusing others of whining and keeping talking about it, when you are the one who posted this:
I posted that to tell you losers off. You're all piss babies who look like sore losers because your games keep losing to from softwares genius design. The discussion forum is more for opinion-based matters I don't think anyone cares that your opinion is that DLC shouldn't count.

I do like the fear mongering that this is going to set some precedent where DLC is constantly being nominated for Game of the Year. Is this supposed to be a dystopia where we constantly get DLC that is so good it's better than full games? Sounds pretty sweet to me.
We get DLCs like that every year 🤷‍♂️
Phantom Liberty was not nominated due the rules last year and so they found a way to give it a award in a category that it was not fitting.

There is nothing to do with losing or winning lol
Who loses or who win doesn't matter at all for the discussion.

What is the rule that prevented the cyberpunk DLC from being nominated last year? Can you find that rule?

Rule clarification, not an added rule. There was no rule explicitly forbidding DLC from being game of the year before this year.
They added this year to the rules... you can look at the site.

What you are trying to defense here is that all rules are not know and Geoff Keighley can from nowhere change it saying it was somehow a hidden rule not listed in the rules.
C'mon.

It is like saying there is a judge that condemned somebody using a law in the constitution that doesn't exists but after the backslash he come public and say it was a hidden rule and now he will add it to the constitution.

:D :D :D

It was never a rule in any TGA in the past.

Yes but you don't because you posted something already explained by the own post lol
It is ease after the backslash says it was a hidden rule that was never in the rules list lol
It is damage control and not actual proof of anything.

The rule never existed and you can check the site in waybackmachine.

If there was no rule against DLC then you were wrong to complain. Simple as that.

This year was added that rule.

And besides the rules... DLCs should not be nominated to GOTY awards.
It just that ridiculous.

Edit - Ohhh and you will be "surprise" when Geoff and company comes next year and say "after talk with all partner we decided that it is better to not have DLCs listed as GOTY bla bla bla"...

Dude what is wrong with you. There were no rules stopping DLCs from being nominated they simply didn't get enough votes.

The clarification this year also mentioned remakes and there was a remake nominated last year. Explain that.

I ask the same thing... your comments are all weird and nonsensical... what is wrong with you?
You distillate hate to Zelda but when somebody says a DLC from Elden Ring should not be nominated as GOTY...

Ohhh my precious... it can everything... it is better than anything... you need to accept it... anybody against it is wrong lol

When the discussion is not even about the DLC itself but all DLCs.

BTW there were no rule allowing DLCs until this year (2024).

Let me see if I can make it easier for this guy...

When Bryan75k tells me not to insult you for being an idiot he is clarifying to me that there are rules against insulting other posters. That clarification does not mean the rule came into existence today.

Because he added the rules in 2022... before that there are a lot of insults without any action against it (that lead him to add the rule and explicit announced it).

TGA 2024 added the rule to allow DLCs.
Maybe if they added the rule in years before when no DLC was nominated to GOTY... but they added the rule just because people leaked that a DLC will be nominated.
They basically added the rule to break their own rules because it was leaked that a DLC was about to be nominated before the public announcement.... so they fast added the rule to try to counter backslash... the rule was added less than a week before the announcement.

But for you it is all coincidence... I know.

There is no added rule, dude. I keep linking you an article that says people like you ERRONEOUSLY believed DLC couldn't be nominated which is the whole reason he clarified the rule because of people like you who have ERRONEOUS beliefs about the rules of the tgas. Do you know what that word means that I keep spelling in all caps? If you know what that word means then you should be able to figure out what the article is trying to say.

A rule clarification was added there has never been a rule stopping DLC from being nominated. That's it that's all there is to it. If you keep going I'm going to ask for a moderator to come in because I have literally proven you wrong and you just keep going anyways you are clearly a troll.
