Yes, what was it? Sony only releases games on a Friday you say?
Sony;
That is a good other reason, but my initial thought was much cheekier to a certain planetary spacefaring opus (which I still hope turns out well, I do like me some scifi).
My bet is that GOWR will barely break 90 on Metacritic, if so. It will have all those beautiful magazines where the reviewer played 30 seconds, zero trophies, and award it a 6/10.
Even if Stevivor does that crap it won't matter, if they try it then Metacritic might finally blacklist them too.
I have a PlayStation 4 Pro which I have no interest in getting this for I'll just get it on PC
I'd argue consoles are, depending on the genre, better gaming platforms than PCs, simply due to convenience. Not all of us have PCs in the living room, and consoles are affordable enough for a lot of people to enjoy living room gaming.
Also, some games just feel more comfortable to play on console IMO. The big story-driven action-adventure style games, I can't imagine playing those on a small monitor. Or sitting in a "gaming chair", either.
Or, stuff like RTS games, just feels better with a mouse and keyboard at a desk. And yeah, pricing for consoles by and large, for what you are getting, is always something they will have over PC (not to mention better stability; dunno how stable W11 is now but W10 has produced some annoying issues here and there with USB devices locking up services and needing reboots, or Retroarch not shutting down correctly forcing a reboot, etc).
Who's begging lol? These releases are a certainly. I'm not asking for the game, I'm telling you where I'm going to buy it.
They aren't a certainty; Sony do not have blanket conversion dates for their games to PC, or even what specific games are getting PC ports. There aren't any timetables, and for what games do get PC ports, could be 2+ years out, even upwards 4.
The only 1P games you can probably count on getting Day 1 ports or within a year from initial release are the live-service GaaS titles, of which GOW Ragnarok is not one of them. Is the probability good that Ragnarok eventually gets a PC port? Yes. But I personally don't see the point in mentioning that for a possibility that is 2+ years out from even being a reality.
EDIT: I hope this response isn't seen as being negative, I'm just kind of at odds with stating an intent to buy something on a platform that won't see the game for at least a couple of years. Unfortunately a lot of people these days have used it as another way of silly console warring, as if to say they won't buy it on X platform out of spite.
But if you're just genuinely interested in playing the game on PC for the reasons you prefer, then that's cool. No problem. It might take a little while but you'll most likely eventually get to play it on a 4090
