The Last of Us Part 1 is a Remake of 2013 action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.
Players control Joel, a smuggler tasked with escorting a teenage girl, Ellie, across a post-apocalyptic United States. The game is played from a third-person perspective. Players use firearms and improvised weapons, and can use stealth to defend against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures infected by a mutated fungus in the genus Cordyceps.

The Last of Us Part 1 is set to be released on 2nd of September, 2022 on PS5.

I really hope it's not a straight graphical remake.
I would love something akin FF7r where they surprise you with some changes.
But even if it's just graphics, dualsense, loading and all the typical stuff, that's still OK.
The original game aged. It looks older than I remember and I replayed it last year

Yeah, hopefully they open up some of the buildings and allow more exploration. Or hell, give us more shiv doors. Throw some text logs in there and call it a day.

This'll be $70 but I'll begrudgingly buy it because I love the first game.

I just can't believe I see people complaining they "didn't even re-record the audio". WTF? You don't just "record audio", that's a full re-mocap with the cast.
Imagine the shitstorm, all those essays on youtube antfucking every single scene, about Joel losing his "grim resolve" by saying a sentence slightly differently in the new version, because cuckmmann and his cuck-agenda. Hysterical. The fact it's old mocap data re-processed in finer detail is the single best thing we know about this project imo. For now. Can't wait to see gameplay. Introducing movement mechanics from part2, especially prone = full level redesign, curious how far will they'll take it.

I agree. I'd also love to see if they expand on some stories. I would have liked to see more of Bill and possible flashbacks on what happened to his partner.

They outright stated they are improving the combat and exploration.

Effects, exploration, and combat have all been enhanced.

Is this just Dual-Sense features? Well it's possible... that could qualify as enhanced combat if the triggers have realistic trigger pull, enhanced "exploration" if you get haptics when you wander around. But the rumor is that it's basically the TLOU 2 engine w/ TLOU 1/DLC content, so the hope is that you will get all of the features you have in TLOU 2 like prone and whatnot.

Anyone else feel like Sony are going to pull a 'Miles Morales' and this game is going to be coming for PS4 as well?

Doesn't really make sense to not release on PS4, unless Naughty Dog's engine is now fully PS5 oriented.

It just seems to look the same as the TLoU2, which ran well on PS4...

I guess the studio could have moved to PS5 exclusively, if they are planning to release Factions only on PS5 (and perhaps PC).

Naw Miles was never stated to be a PS5 exclusive. By the time it went up for Preorders it was made clear it was cross-gen, TLOU has been up for preorder already and theres no ps4 version in sight.

Who knows what they’ve done to the game or what they would need to do to get a ps4 version working by September. I think all the big studios are moving on. Outside of the casual CoD and annual sports games players, most people are moving on from last gen hardware or just not feeling enthused to make full price purchases on it anymore.

Only reason God of War and Horizon were cross-gen is cause they started development on the PS4. TLOU started development after Naughty Dog got Dev Kits and TLOU2 came out.
