all the SH games are worth playing, Even downpour which is considered the worst in the series I still enjoyed it. Not so many games out there who can give you the same atmosphere as SH.

It really isn't. One of my favorite series, but it has too much action and a surplus of bullets. How can it be horrifying if you keep thinking you wanna f*ck Nemesis in it's every form, or Salazar? Silent Hill's radio and fog on the other hand, or the dimension thing...

To me it's horrifying. I lose it every time nemesis or Mr x are chasing me. Just because a game is horror that doesn't mean it can't have action or comedy in it, it's still horror at the ene of the day. The environment, dark atmosphere, gore, music etc... it's just straight up horror clear as a day.
Wasn't 7 Part of the PS Collection at one point? or it might still be there not looked in a while
The most horrifying moment of my life was when my then girlfriend (god bless her) accidentaly knocked my working at the time HDD off the table. Doesn't really qualify as a horror moment thought.

You should try watching the Twilight series, some of the scariest shit I have ever seen.
Not really a movie but started watching the Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix , actually pretty good IMO. It's pretty graphic in some episodes.

For example for Dino Crysis is basically a spin-off from RE and it is not called Horror.
The horror part of Resident Evil is very light with compared with pure horror games.
It is just a part of Resident Evil and not the main focus... Survival is what the franchise focused well at least until they changed to Action.
That is why RE was never cataloged in Horror genre and Capcom had to create a new sub-genre called Survival Horror.
