It passed the ps4 launch aligned in April, so in 4 months it managed to gain +5%, very impressive. Around this time in 2016 the ps4 was ~14m LTD in the US (~16m LTD after the holidays in 2016), so the ps5 should be somewhere between 14.5-15m, while the Xbox should be somewhere around 10.5-11m.

600% means ~150-200k to ~1050-1400k in September... that is impossible imo.

The pandemic really help Xbox in 2021, the narrative was that they were overtaking both the Xbox One and 360 and they had a massive gen coming.

At this point they are lucky if they sell as much as Xbox One and that was a disaster for them.

They were barely outselling Xbox One launch alighted... that is the case that when Series sales dropped a bit it fast got behind Xbox One.
The same cam be said when Series was outselling PS5 in early 2022... it was like near 5 months in a row (remember MS shooting loud to everybody heard) but when PS5 just in a month outsold Series it took the lead in the year lol

These are situations that the lead is so small that could be take as a technical tie... when supply got good for PS5 it took the lead with just a month of sales (June 2022 I believe).
