I just finished playing Children of the Sun, which is an incredibly short (under three hours) indie title from Devolver Digital.

The game has you take the role of a victim of a cult, as they hunt down the cult members for revenge. The gameplay involves positioning yourself from a sniping point, and firing a bullet which you "fire" again upon hitting an enemy. This creates a puzzle/arcade style shooter, where you plan out the "path" of your bullet. As the game progresses, you are also able to control your bullet mid flight, and even "fire" it again mid-air by chaining weak points on enemies.

While it was a fun little game, I would definitely only recommend it as a discount pickup, given the length. Granted, you're awarded points for your performance on each level, so it's not designed for a single playthrough, but rather to spend time replaying levels for higher points.

I just finished playing Nightmare of Decay, which is an indie survival horror title with the premise of being trapped in a manor, and having to fight through the undead to escape.

The game is very clearly inspired by the Resident Evil franchise, with some puzzles being nearly identical to those from the RE series. The game is very quick, and can be finished in under three hours playing slowly on Hard, with achievements for beating the game in under an hour.

It does a nice job of laying out a survival horror mansion, with all the hallmarks of puzzles, rooms, and even mini games (shooting galleries). The game includes bosses, and after you beat the game, you can challenge a variety of extra modes (timed survival, etc.)

If you can find it on sale, I think it's a decent survival horror pickup.

My son is playing Goat simulator 3, looks ludicrous.

Asked him to get some trophies for me in it on my profile later... Lol

I dropped back into destiny, did some PvP and a vanguard op, was fun...might do more.

I've improved that time, I'm down to around 35.5 or something like that now.

But i have no idea where I can cut more time off...
spent all day working on the speedrun levels, i think i'm done because i'm not good enough to have the kind of hand eye coordination and control i did when i was younger. still managed to regain the lead in times by a little bit lol

I just finished playing Inmost, developed by Hidden Layer Games, and published by Chucklefish. The game is something of a metroidvania-lite mixed with an adventure game, and has you wandering around solving very simple puzzles to progress. Some areas are gated off until you have specific items.

The story is alright, but I was disappointed by how little of it was interactive, with much of it being told via long cut scenes, or through what were effectively interactive cut scenes. The gameplay is very simple, and it's an extremely forgiving game. All in all, you can beat it within a few hours probably.

While the pixel art on the game is pretty, I don't know that I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Perhaps if it's a style of game you like and it goes on sale though.

Yeah, I lost my top friend times there..
I'm happy enough with the times I have, I don't see me getting much higher.

I seem to have hit a hard ceiling on those two levels at least.

Bit I've had tons of fun.

I just wish there was a way to have some banter about he ties when you overtake a friend...some shit talking... Haha

Finished up Dead Space remake yesterday and really enjoyed it.

Probably dive into the Monster Hunter Wilds beta next. Then House of Ashes (have that and Devil Inside from PS+ to play and finish up the Dark Pictures Anthology).

Started on romance of the 3 kingdoms 8 remake and romancing saga 2, ROTK so far has been a good experience for the 5 hrs I Put in and you can roleplay as a peasant/commoner rising up in Cao Cao's army lol. Saga 2 is decent as well but I only played a couple of hrs till now.

I am also halfway through reynatis and its a ps3 era jrpg through and through with all its pitfalls

finished metaphor refantazio, took me about 61 hrs or so. it honestly was fun to play just for the sake of seeing how the journey moves forward. unlike starfield where i had to do it in order to justify my purchase. i would understand if some people call it their goty but this year on (j)rpgs alone. we've been eating good. i'll think about the game at work. i haven't played a game for hrs like that. i legit took breaks for dada duties, eat and just continue grinding through it. devourer of stars was frustrating, the final boss was annoying but it wasn't an exhausting sequence like p5 where you get overwhelmed. alot of recognizable assets, references and reused animations but it was a good game. what to play and finish next will be a tough choice.

romancing saga 2 looks great been reading a lot of positives things.

Started up the Monster Hunter Wilds demo last night, just played through the opening part to hit the first town or settlement or whatever and enjoyed it so far. Went with dual blades first as I’d played some of Rise with that (never finished it). Played long sword in World and liked it, but got tired of managing the meters etc.

Game looks not as good as I was expecting, but better once I turned off the 120hz mode that defaulted to on. Will be curious to see how much better the PS5 Pro version runs as its seems like PSSR upping the resolution would be a big benefit to the game, along with whatever tweaks they make between now and launch in a few months.

tried Monster Hunter Wilds. controls are terrible, probably worst game controls i ever faced. combat laughable, visuals mediocre.
whole game should be named Monster Sponges Wild
