What Are You Watching?

Obi-Wan, lol, which I have mixed feelings about. I thought it ended spectacularly though.

I’m also kind of hyped about the 60th Anniversary Doctor Who stuff, which has me going back and checking out the whole run from 2005. It’s hard to get excited about the same episodes the same way, but it’s fun to watch.

I'm looking forward to seeing Obi-Wan and what all the controversy was about. Ewan McGregor is such an underrated actor, I'd love to see him in more.

I saw a clip from...what i think was episode 4 and it looked really cool.

I'm re-watching the Sopranos now... it's much funnier than I remember.

There’s also Reva. I’m not touching the huge controversy over her with a ten foot pole, but I think the character doesn’t really work until the end.

So, mixed feelings. I’m glad I watched though.

Mmm I think the entertainment industry in general is hurting for consistently good-great writers... the few that are there seem to be in huge demand or completely locked down.

I don't see dialogue on the level of Tarantino or anyone taking inspiration from him and I don't see strong themes integrated with amazing vision like the Nolan brothers.

Although there are bright spots, they tend to come from less likely places.... Squid Game etc.

Yeah. I’m of the opinion we haven’t really seen strong mainstream output from Hollywood since the late 2000s. Like you said, there are some bright spots, but we currently seem to be in a lull right now.

I just saw the Northman which was absolutely amazing, just so well filmed and well shot. Might be a little slow for some but the payoffs are good and violent.

Watching the Boys, up to episode 2 of Season 3, great show, lots of fun!

I'll have to check out The Northman. Looks like my favorite setting (fantasy). I'm not sure I can do The Boys.

Tv wise I’m now watching Ms. Marvel since I finished Obi-Wan. Ewan is soooo good looking still it’s unbelievable. For those who haven’t seen it it’s probably the best Marvel show since Wandavision. The ending of Obi-Wan left me hoping for a second season but we’ll see. That last scene ughhh I don’t want to spoil to those who haven’t seen it but I cried a little. I heard Reva might get a series too which would be awesome too because she absolutely KILLED that role. I was still feeling down yesterday so I did a rerun of Velvet Goldmine yesterday to feel better and ugh it always does such a good job. Ewan and Christian are just remarkable in that film. If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend for their love scene alone.

Ewan seems like one of the most likable people.... and I am really glad that Christensen came back to acting and people seem to appreciate him now.

New actors in Star Wars always seem to get a hard time....it's like it takes time for the SW audience to warm up to anyone.

Eh it's just something that happens... I dont mind, watching it will still be enjoyable.
